You will experience itching during the healing period and this procedure is nothing to be taken lightheartedly as it’s an extremely sensitive area of the body and takes a long time to recover. Please be ready for it.
Labiaplasty August 2018
I originally went to Dr. Hassan to have a corrective procedure done on an ingrown hair that a dermatologist performed for me. I loved how he did this small but very important procedure, as it had caused me much discomfort and headache for a long time as it kept creeping back up and had discharge... you can imagine how i felt. I was referred to him by a different dermatologist i went to after the one that did the procedure. She told me i should have a plastic surgeon do the procedure , not a dermatologist, which was great advice. She recommended Dr. Hassan to me. I have had no issues with the ingrown hair coming back and am extremely satisfied as i have no tender feeling or anything like i did before when i first had the procedure done. Also, there was literally no wait time in his office, which these days is a rarity as doctors overbook all the time. Staff is very friendly .
Anyhow, i saw his technique and his no nonsense approach and the fact that he wasn’t money hungry ( which tells me a lot about doctors) and decided he would be my surgeon for the long wanted labiaplasty. I decided to have this done as a gift for my birthday. I had just turned 30 and decided not to go through my 30s with this on my mind. Dr. Hassan charged me $3500 which i found reasonable. I had my procedure done under local anesthesia as i dislike being put under. He was nervous about it as he explained many patients do it for the wrong reasons ( paying less- btw for full anesthesia he only wanted another $700, which again is a lot less than what i am seeing people say they paid on this thread) and they end up being very uncomfortable during the procedure, which then makes it hard for him to complete his job. Well, i assured him i was a tough cookie and could do it and did not want to be put under not because of the money , but because i truly have a phobia of it and if i absolutely don’t have to do it, i prefer not to. He did the anesthesia shots down there which did sting, but with the numbing cream i was given to apply an hour before the surgery , it wasn’t as bad and he gave me enough shots that i was completely numb and did not feel a thing during the procedure. My procedure lasted close to two hours and i was happy about that as he took his time. We decided on the wedge method and I’m glad i did. My healing was normal aside from a tear on each lip , which, as the doctor explained might heal and close up, and if not we can go back once i am healed and fix it. It healed fine and closed up and this is part of the healing process. You really do have to give it time to heal to see the final results, so try not freaking out, as hard as it can be. I did not have as much excess skin and it wasn’t very thick. I wanted the procedure done due to the discomfort such as bunching up and moisture retention after urination. I used to not be able to live without a panty liner, but now no longer use them. Dr. Hassan is down to earth and experienced and i am very happy with my results. I am five months post op and i still feel a tiny bit of pain when i press down on my lips but it’s not really pain as much as it’s a “ i had surgery done in the most sensitive part of the body and it’s still healing “ type of feeling. I am waiting for the six month mark to see if it goes away completely. It can take up to a year for full results. I am also fine to work out at this point. I followed all of his orders during healing and went even longer without sex than he suggested - I’m still not having any because i want to wait until i am totally healed. I truly can say a weight has been lifted as i feel so much better when i am performing physical activities. I can recommend Dr. Hassan as he is an experienced and honest surgeon. He is very comfortable in his work as he knows what he’s doing. Most importantly he doesn’t sell you a dream he’s very upfront. I feel so sad for the ladies on here that have had a horrible experience and i am so glad i had a procedure done before hand that gave me an idea of the kind of surgeon he is.
