Labiaplasty recovery way more uncomfortable & painful than I ever imagined!

I'm 43, healthy, fit and I had rather long labia. I felt really self conscious about seeing them hang below my vagina. I've wanted this surgery for long time. I finally did it. I had no idea what to expect regarding how it would feel after surgery. I kind of thought it wouldn't be that bad because the skin of the labia reminded me of my elbow skin bc when you pinch it, it doesn't hurt. During surgery, I only had local anesthetic which I do not recommend! I definitely wish I was unconscious for that procedure. I was very anxious and didn't like being conscious while my bits were being cut off! After surgery they sent me home with 6 Tylenol 3's. As soon as the local anesthetic wore off I was in extreme pain!! I took 1 T3.. nothing. 2 T3's... not even a dent in the pain. 3 T3's later plus 2 extra strength ibprophen I finally had a bit of edge off the pain. Honestly, I was in A LOT of pain for the first week. I couldn't even sit down it hurt so bad. I was very swollen and bruised. And the swelling was cause the skin to pull against the stitches... all I can say is OUCH!!! I went back to the dr and demanded a knotted stitch on my clitoral hood be removed as it felt like my skin was pinched in the knot of the suture and it was EXCRUCIATINGLY PAINFUL !! once that stitch was removed the pain was diminished significantly . I am post op 3.5 weeks and still have days that I am sore. Recovery has been way more uncomfortable and painful than I ever imagined! The past 2 weeks I have been unbelievably itchy! The itch down there is beyond anything ive ever experienced in my life!! It's unbearable!! I put an anti-itch cream on it & it's really helps. I don't go anywhere without this cream! I also find not having sex with my boyfriend really difficult as well. It's literally impossible to have intercourse and at 3.5 weeks post op I don't even foresee it happening in the next 2 weeks:( Recovery is so slow:( they say 6 weeks before you can have intercourse and I think If you do you would have to take it easy. I was not mentally prepared for how much uncomfortable and slow recovery would be. I've read a lot of reviews saying the pain was mild which I now find hard to believe after my experience. I'll write again at 5 weeks. Praying I'll be feeling more back to normal by then.
One of my labia looks great. The other one looks lumpy and wavy, not a Clean line/trim. I have concerns about the aesthetic of it. I think I'll see the dr and ask about it. The nurse told me in my last visit it's just swelling & it will Even out, but I have my doubts.
