Labiaplasty was something on my mind since I was 17. No partner ever said anything negative about my vulva, but I was still self-conscious. I had one labia minora that was longer, darker, and thicker than the other. This side was always getting pinched in underwear, pressed through lace, and tugged on during sex (and not in a good way). I constantly had to tuck it upwards and adjust myself to feel comfortable.
It got worse when I committed to a healthier lifestyle. My outer labia lost some volume with my weight loss, causing the area to look deflated. I say this with the most humor possible, but I called it my "sad squidward".The end result had me looking for a surgeon who could remove the longer tissue while preserving a natural look. I wasn't looking to be a cookie-cutter vulva; but something that looked and functioned better. I ultimately settled with Dr. Nicole Williams. Her background was impressive and she was exactly what I was hoping for. She was friendly professional and personable. I had my surgery just a few days ago and plan on updating as my healing process continues!

How's the pain level? I'd imagine it's got to be intense in that area!! No more tugging it or adjusting it in your undies. Yeahhh. And, it sure sounds like it is a pretty "little thing " now. Congrats. Happy Healing. Take care. Rest up!!! Hugs.

The doctor did a great job of making sure I was numb before the procedure. I had 0 pain when I left. I made the mistake of not getting my medication in time before it wore off and the pain was probably about a 6/10. Now that I've maintained the meds, it's been fine. Tender, but nothing crazy. Thank you!

Yep, you've got to stay ahead of the pain. Glad to hear that the meds are helping. Are you supposed to ice it??

Just on and off the first day to help with the swelling and discomfort. I haven't had to use it again. The spray bottle while I urinate has been the best suggestion thus far.

This photo is 1 day post-op. I was worried about the inflammation circled (I didn’t have tissue removed there, there were no stitches). I contacted the office and they said it was completely normal. If it got worse, I was to call back.

You are the only other person I have seen this happen to as well as me! I had a wedge and ir was bizarre to me that the bottom of my labia was so swollen and it wasn't operated on. Rest assured it will all go down (see my review for proof!

I've been so surprised at how my swelling as been. I expected worse honestly. My surgeon is a OB-GYN that specializes in this type of surgery. I wanted to make sure I didn't have an issue with function. I'm happy my photos can help others with their shared experience. My office told me that area may have swelled as a response to the local anesthesia.
