Wish I Did It 20 Years Ago!

I can’t believe it took me so long to do this. I am so happy and I’m only 11 days post op. I am getting better and better every day. If it were to stay like it is now I’d be happy. So I already know by 6 weeks I am never looking back. I will post some pics and prob just post each week instead of daily.
I have looked after myself. I think days 1-4 were amazing. I couldn’t believe I had no pain (kept up with meds religiously). Also drank ural and never felt any stinging. Days 5-7 were my worst and yet I was out having wines at a winery and no one knew. But it was uncomfortable to sit and move around. My left labia Majora was bruised and swollen so not sure what they do in the op. Mayve clamp them to hold them back? I don’t know. If anyone knows tell me. I’ve been searching and I don’t want to bother my surgeon. Day 11 now and I’m not taking any meds and I can finally touch it slightly to rub paw paw ointment on to keep everything soft. I kept up with baths x 2 most days. And I have definitely rested. Have told people I have a virus and just exhausted. Helps get me out of exercise / walks with friends without them knowing.
My advice. If you want it done. Get it done. Have 2 weeks aside to heal properly. This is a personal thing. It’s no one’s business.
Say you’re going on a yoga retreat for 2 weeks if you can’t avoid people and take 2 weeks off somewhere and use it as your holiday. Already I feel so much more confident.

Eeeek. Worried now
Neat6300September 19, 2019
I’ve had another look inside. Am freaked out. Looks like I have 3 minora’s. Trying to stay calm. But looks like my right is all sewn together. Stitches are black and weird.
Only 2 weeks out so know I have a long way to go. Posting updates pics but look at your own peril.
I feel fine. Still tender to touch but otherwise don’t feel anything.
Still keeping up with baths.
Thoughts?

Aw Don’t worry!
From looking at other people’s results that turned out to be great: it seems common that at 2 weeks it looked nothing like the final outcome.
It must be stressful for you to feel like things aren’t quite right. I just saw your comment that we’ve got the same surgeon :) Just to put your mind at ease, would you consider texting Dr Paterson to get her thoughts? From what I understand she wants her patients to reach out so use her as a resource :)

PS I think it looks like you’re progressing really well and that it looks good! one side is more swollen than the other, perfectly normal. Hope this helps

Thanks for the response. Yeah I am feeling better today. It's gone down and down. The photo makes me look very swollen but it's up so close. It's not as bad as it looks. She's been amazing. I don't think I'll bother her as I know I'm just being impatient. Still early days. And even my photo today I uploaded is better than 2 days ago.

Still healing ....

So this looks gross. Lots of stitches still hanging around. I feel good. Been on 10 km walks and no pain. Still tender to touch and only pay dry. This photo isn’t glamorous but it shows the stitches. Some black! Starting to look like I’m evening out as have been fairly swollen. Only 2.5 weeks have passed. So I still have nearly 4 until I see real results. So far am happy. So much neater. And given I’m still in early days I’m not worried that this is looking like it is. Healing is the key. Feel so fine.

Ditto. It sounds like you're doing the same as me, I keep checking and I really shouldn't lol. I'm gonna post an update weekly until I hit the 6 weeks mark x

I'm scared the stitches won't leave. Those black ones scare me. Anyway. Patience is a virtue apparently.

I've just added an update now with before picture. HATE HATE HATE. Can hardly bring myself to look but wow this makes me realise how much this has actually changed my life and how bad the excess was

Your results are amazing!!! You look like your months past. I hated mine too. Soooooo much. Every day out of shower I would look and think YUK. Mine is improving daily. I know I'll be happy. Still swollen. You don't look swollen at all.

Me too! By the way I found that keeping the area dry was the best thing for the stitches. When out of bath or shower use hair dryer on low heat to dry the area x

Thanks. Not many left now. I'm still having baths. Today I looked and everything is even and smaller. I'm getting excited that this will be even better than I imagined.

Will do. Still looks big in my pics but it's not. Strange. I'll update mayve tomorrow which is 3 weeks. :)
