I spent over a year researching doctors and visiting offices to find the best care. Finally, I found it at Dr. Rodgers’ office. She is the most professional, intelligent, and thoughtful plastic surgeon I’ve ever met. Her team mirrors her qualities; they are kind, caring, attentive, and always available during recovery. I eagerly anticipated all my follow-up appointments because they were so great. They encouraged me on my progress, answered my questions, and provided support. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience.
I had been experiencing pain with my labia for over eight years and finally decided to take action. Here’s how the process works: On the day of surgery, you may feel anxious, even if you don’t think you will. You’ll receive pain medication and numbing, and the procedure takes about an hour. The incredible team does an excellent job of relieving your anxiety before, during, and after the procedure. They walk you through everything with great care and comfort.
You’ll go home, and the first week won’t be easy. You’ll be in pain, tired, and the first time you use the bathroom will be painful and worrisome. Dr. Rodgers’ team member will be available to call you whenever you need them, even during the first time you go to the restroom.
You’ll need to be in bed, icing and elevating for at least two weeks, so be prepared. You’ll have a follow-up appointment scheduled with Dr. Rodgers, which is just one of the many examples of her dedicated care for you.
By week three, the swelling will start to decrease, and you’ll want to touch it. Don’t! Let it heal on its own. Stitches will start to show, but don’t touch them. Just keep icing and elevating as much as you can.
By week four, you’ll be able to walk a lot and feel excited, but don’t push yourself too hard. By week five, everything will feel normal, and you’ll be happy, but wait until you get the official green light from the office before doing anything strenuous.
I couldn’t recommend this office enough! They’re the best and I am so grateful for the experience and care I received!
