My sister, a registered nurse with over twenty...

My sister, a registered nurse with over twenty years of experience, helped me research surgeons when I was deciding on a doctor for a tummy tuck and liposuction procedure. We had consults with five different surgeons, and after meeting with Dr. James Pietraszek, it was obvious that he was the doctor for the job.
I chose Dr. Pietraszek over the other doctors who I interviewed for a few reasons. Dr. Pietraszek has an amazing bed side manner. He is kind. He listens, looks you in the eye, and thoroughly answers questions that you have. In addition to his excellent bedside manner, (and perhaps even more important) he is a board-certified, plastic surgeon with thirty years of experience. What I learned through the whole research phase of this important decision in my life is that it’s easy to get fooled when looking at doctors’ credentials. My sister, the bulldog, is the one who taught me this fact. Do an internet search on the difference between a cosmetic surgeon and a plastic surgeon and you’ll see what I mean. What you’ll find is that not all doctors who provide cosmetic surgery procedures specialize in plastic surgery. In other words, a general practitioner, like a family practice doctor, can decide that he/she wants to perform tummy tucks and he/she can go get certified to practice this technique. Lots of health care providers who aren’t actual plastic surgeons get certified to perform cosmetic surgery procedures because it’s lucrative. This wasn’t the kind of doctor I was looking for. I wanted a doctor with experience and solid credentials. I wanted a doctor who spent years as a medical student actually specializing in plastic surgery. I wanted a doctor who learned from other experienced plastic surgeons, and who passed the difficult board exams in plastic surgery, and I wanted a doctor who has practiced plastic surgery for the span of his entire career. If you choose Dr. Pietraszek to do whatever procedure you are considering, this is the doctor that you’re getting.
I leave you with this: Dr. Pietraszek is a perfectionist when it comes to getting results and that’s the kind of plastic surgeon you want operating on your body. One of his nurses shared with me that he takes drawing and art classes in his spare time. He understands balance of form, lines and aesthetics. In my opinion he is the best plastic surgeon in San Diego County and beyond. I say this not only because of all of the reasons that I mention above, but because of the results of my surgery. I love my smooth, flat, beautiful stomach. I’ve done the research. I wouldn’t consider going to anyone else, and if you want to be in the care of a gifted, intelligent, meticulous surgeon, either should you. Good luck on your journey in selecting a doctor for whatever procedure you are considering. I can say with complete sincerity that if you decide on working with Dr. Pietraszek, you won’t be sorry.
