Since I was 15, I've been wanted to get my nose...
Since I was 15, I've been wanted to get my nose done because I felt very insecure about it. I had a hump, and I hated taking pictures and didn't feel so great about being around others who didn't have a hump because I wish I never had one. Other girls would feel so great about their looks, and I didn't. Time went by, and I felt the need to make the move of finding the right doctor because I was at a mature age to have this procedure since the nose grows during adolescence. I went to a doctor a year before my procedure with Dr. Singer was done, but I didn't like how he presented his opinion about what he would do to my nose, because it just wasn't clear and I didn't feel confident in him or the predicted results itself. After all, this is my face, and I would never plan on having multiple surgeries on my face, so I couldn't settle for less. A year later, my mom randomly asked her very good friend (Lisa Wesley) if she's ever heard of a good plastic surgeon in San Diego, and the rest is history.
Dr. Singer & his staff made me feel welcome as soon as I entered their office, and I just knew he was the one. He isn't the type of doctor to waste your time, so he is very honest and straight to the point. He got to know me before we even talked about my nose, and I don't think any other plastic surgeon would care that much to sit and get to know their patient and treat them like a friend because most patients are temporary anyways since they are one-time procedures. He took a detailed look at my nose and compared to the rest of my face and told me that my nose has to be proportional to the features of my face in order to have a great result. We had certain opinions about nose jobs in common because we both didn't like the look of a pinched fake looking nose that most nose jobs look like these days. It may look cute at a young age, but definitely not in your 40s and 50s! We both are a fan of a natural look that is specifically perfect for that person and their face, not just a perfect nose. Thats what makes a difference in the results because everyone has different features and are of different ethnicities, so obtaining the nose that looks good on YOU only, is the key. That is what makes Dr. Singer different than other surgeons, he knows what he' talking about!!!
I saw photos of many patients that had a similar nose to me, and I saw how natural their results were and I was impressed. I didn't want the world to notice that I've had a nose job, because I didn't do this for attention or for feedback, I did it for myself and I just wanted to be happy with it.
My procedure's date was scheduled, and before I knew it, it was time to do what I've always wanted to do!!!
My recovery was a 10/10, no problems, and no bruises! That was very shocking to me and Dr. Singer, since I bruise so easily everywhere else on my body. I was happy about that because I could leave the house sooner! Dr Singer asked me to come in the next day after my surgery, and every 2 days from that. Most doctors tell you to come back a week after your surgery, which means they don't even see how you are doing for 7 whole days!! Dr Singer is very dependable the whole way, and doesn't just let you go just because he finished his work. 3 weeks post-op, my splint was removed and I felt great! Swelling was still there, but it went down rather quickly during the 1st 3 months, but it still takes about 6 months to a year for the entire swelling to be gone. However, it is not noticeable since the majority of the swelling has gone down. I LOVED the result even in the first few weeks because I could see the overall shape of my nose and I felt like I was dreaming because I've never seen a better version of myself in 20 years. Breathing was fantastic! Pain level for post-op was at a standard level that was expected, but nothing brutal. I was very pleased with every aspect of my procedure because it went so smoothly and I was confident in every step.
Today, I am 4 months post-op and I am loving my nose!
