I have not had good luck with lasers and find them to be a huge waste of money. But I am a sucker for a promise of good skin and I never learn my lesson!
This was really a waste of money. The procedure itself required no numbing cream and was only mildly uncomfortable. It lasted about 20 minutes. I was assured that there was no downtime with this procedure. I have done clear and brilliant in the past and was told recovery was even less than that which was no big deal. The downtime was real! I looked horrible with massive reddish brown spots all over my face. It was a mess.It did clear up after a week but honestly after all that I was hoping those spots would reveal better skin underneath. Now I am told I need several of these treatments to achieve results. So far lasers to me are lackluster in their delivery promises and I will stick with Cosmelean which produced much nicer results.

Any updates on how your skin looks after recovery compared to before? From the doctors I've talked to, it seems like the picogenesis recovery is almost none to a couple weeks+. I'm thinking about getting it done, and I work from home so down time isn't a big deal to me if the results are there in the long run. But I also don't want to peel like a resurfacing does.

I've learned that when it comes to laser treatments you really have to do A LOT of research on your own, to the point of almost telling the doctor which settings to use. There are so many practitioners doing lasers as a part-time side-hustle who have no idea how to use these complex, powerful tools. You ought to determine how deep your pigmented lesions are, and stress that the practitioner needs to be conservative and use long wavelengths for deep pigmentation and generally very low fluence to avoid adverse effects. You will need several treatments, however, that's not at all unusual. You could do a more aggressive laser and risk your face to have it done in one sitting, but with these more gentle lasers you need several treatments, especially for hyperpigmentation..
