90 day update
WORTH IT$8,550
3 months have past! Status: feeling good, the donor area is fine/not an issue. The new transplanted hairs are what anyone can expect 90 days post-op: minimal and thin; but definite signs of hope on the way! I will provide updates every 3 months until the 1 year anniversary. Thanks for reading!

Greetings, I am a 29 yr old with thinning/balding hair at my hairline and crown. On 4/23/15 I underwent a HT with Dr. Timothy Carman, MD. His office and staff are very nice, the entire operation was 13 hours and Dr. Carman made it a very comfortable process. The goal was to harves 2,700 hair follicles, and if Dr. Carman is able to harvest more than that amount he will use the extra grafts and NOT bill you for the additional work. We were able to harvest nearly 3,100 hair follicles! I had my hairline and crown both worked on. It's just 5 days after the operation and I feel great and I see a hairline which I have not seen in almost a decade. Just 5 days after and I feel my old confident self already coming back around and I really believe I received excellent value in every aspect of the office of Dr. Timothy Carman, MD. So much so, that I've created an account here on realself to let others know of the positive experiences with HTs.

Forgot to mention, was a FUT method HT. My donar area is very thick and I am not concerned about the scar, in fact it's welcomed for the improvement it will enable in my life. FUT yields more, healthier grafts vs FUE.

Welcome to the community, thank you for sharing your experience with us. Keep us posted on your progress.
I'm glad you had a good experience :) Can I ask how soon you were able to comfortably wash your hair following the procedure. I booked mine and then learned I have to go to a conference for work 4 days afterwards. Lousy timing!
I am currently washing my hair by pouring cups of water over my head to avoid the shower head pressure from damaging the newly placed hair grafts. I expect to do this for the first 2 weeks. I am at work without a bandana after 5 days. You will want to take it easy for a few days after the operation...hopefully you'll have time to chill during your conference.
Thanks Robert, I appreciate the input!
Hello
I m surprised that they didn't shave all the head for the OP.

Hi, it is not necessary to shave the head for a HT. For one, the donor site stays covered nicely with normal length hair in the back and the receptive areas were already bald...so not much to shave.
Good for u

Thanks for the update, looking great!
