I had a jaw and chin reduction last year after a cycling accident left me with asymmetry in the jaw chin area, I was swollen for a very long time. The bone structure is now lovely but have been left with sagging skin and fat around cheeks and under chin area.
I contacted New Look Holidays in Slovakia (Kosia) as well as other surgeons like Rosenstock clinic and Dr Lev in Costa Rica plus a few others. I had some time off work but couldn't afford the ticket for Costa Rica so contacted New Look Holiday. Martina the co ordinator seemed really helpful at first but since getting here (I'm now one day post op) she's been unresponsive at times when I've asked questions and not very helpful at all. The website states that they're there for you if you have questions or queries 24 hours a day... I've not found that at all. Luckily I managed to find the local Lydll otherwise I'd have been buggered.

The Dr, who is lovely, doesn't speak very good English. He's just across the road from where I'm staying but I've no idea which entrance or part of the hospital to go for my check up tomorrow, no one speaks English, and Martina the co ordinator has said that his English is fine and I should just go alone. I've explained that I struggled to communicate with him (today) and that I've no idea which part of hospital I need to go to and she's now simply not responding.

I've had procedures done before so handle things quite well but this type of thing is stressful and actually makes me cross. If I get an infection or something goes wrong I've got no confidence in her communicating this to the Dr whatsoever.

I hate to say it but I feel like now she's had her payment she's not bothered anymore.

Im still very swollen but it does look like the Dr has done a really great job. Tight neck, slimmer lower cheek area, defined jaw. No idea about the incisions as they're still bloody. I'm scared to touch them! Plus I've not been given anything to clean them with yet and know you're meant to do it 3X per day...

I've questions id like to ask my Dr but know he'll not be able to answer if no one is there to support me. Feeling disappointed with the service from New Look Holiday right now.

Day 3 post op lower face and neck lift with under chin lipo

Martina got back to me later in the evening last night and said there would be a co-ordinator on the phone during my meeting with the Dr and that the Dr would meet me at my apartment to attend the appointment (the hospital is a short walk away but complicated to find the right part as it's an old building). I was happy with this- as long as I can be seen and understood I'm happy.
The meeting was quite rushed as Dr was busy and could not hear the translator on the phone properly which made things tricky. I was meant to be given some benadine to clean my incisions and some antisepctic ointment (similar to neosporin) but was only given the ointment. I'm going to try to get some by myself from the pharmacy now.
My under eye area swelled up through the night so i've asked the Dr if i can borrow some ice-packs which he sorted out- i can't say enough how much he puts me at ease. I'm a Turkin fan.
I asked if he's happy with the work he's done on me and he's said he is. Right now it's really tight round my face and neck as everything is swollen- I hope it stays fairly tights as I like it. I'll update more in this as healing continues.
for now I'm just going to eat yogourts, scrambled eggs, drink water and chill out. I've ran out of the pain meds that the Dr gave to me but I'm not going to bother sorting any more- I'm fine. The odd tingle here and there but nothing that actually bothers me.

The only thing that has been getting me a bit irritated is the itching round my ears. But, I'm guessing this is a good thing as itching usually means you're healing, i think?

Anyhoo, I'm alternating ice packs and have already noticed some improvment so that's good. I only have incisions around my temple and front of my ear- none round the back- I am only 31 (had the op because of an accident and post jaw/ chin surgery sagging) and quite happy about this- surprised the Dr managed to get such a good result in my neck area without going round the back. Looking forward to seeing the final result.

Healing. About 5/6 weeks post op

Still have some swelling but you'd not guess if you didn't know me. Stitches have been working their way out and at times stopped me healing properly. My tragic had a pretty big open cut for about a week due to stitches working their way out. Was painful. Contacted the reps at new look holidays and was advised to trim then. Was tricky due to sensitivity/ soreness was once trimmed the cut healed after a few days. Been left with very dark mark/ scar but hoping in the next few months all will start to fade/ lighten.

Bought a product called no more scars, or something along those lines that contains hydroquinone, trwtinoin and a mild steroid to help things along as well as some scar gel from dermatix. They should arrive soon. Been wearing head bands to hide the scars as they're so dark. Stupidly had my fringe cut and thus has made hiding the scars round my hairline really tricky.

Have decided that if they're still noticeable after a few months I'll get hair implants to try to hide them. My hairline is really fine so this will help I think.

Even though the reps weren't as supportive when I was in Slovakia as I'd have hoped (probs because of the amount of support I've had at other places), they are nice people and get back to your queries, if not straight away, after a few days.

I'm going to ask for a mobile phone before I head back this time as another lady got given one that was there when I had my face done. I think this would really help as getting about in taxis or buying food etc is really tricky otherwise. You tend to be really exhausted- mentally and physically- afterwards so having no means of contacting anyone who can help you feels extra stressful if you're alone. I had internet in my apartment but outside my phone didn't work so if you're going to head anywhere try to have this sorted before you arrive.

I'm going to edit my photos so I can hide my identity then add them so you guys can see for yourselves.

I am please, although I think I might need a touch up on my left side as it's much looser/ dagger than my right. Almost looks like I have a double chin on one side. I don't think it's swelling but will show the doc once I'm back in Slovakia.

Because I'm younger I know it was a tricky op as there's not as much 'to play with' as my skin wasn't really aged apart from under my chin do Dr had to be careful/ conservative. Tbh I'd rather he was conservative then have a touch up as overcoreection would be a nightmare.

Will try to sort photos out soon.

Dr Turkin so far has been lovely. He listened well to me and the translator, was gentle and kind and has a great sense of humour. So far I'm happy with my results but am only one day post op.... Because translator from New Look Holidays haven't been with me/ in touch very much at all there have been language barriers that I found stressful and could have been avoided if the co-ordinators had kept in touch with me properly and they're s big part of the process. I can't fault the surgeon so far though.
