To feel better about myself , to look better in...

To feel better about myself , to look better in clothing . I had my procedure done at Parkwest Hospital as outpatient on a Tuesday. Since I live 40 min away from the hospital/ MD , I decided to take a room at Best Western ( booked Handicap Room because it had recliner). I wanted to be close should anything happen needing immediate attention. I ambulated into the hotel and went directly into the recliner. Because of the On-Q-Pump my surgeon had placed I had no pain( this pump delivers a local anesthetic to the actual surgery site for the first several days post-op). After the Pump deflates=medication empty- i pulled pn the tiny nonsutured wires ( as instructed) and removed them . I also had 2 drains that we had to empty as needed - this also helps with pain control from fluid build up pressure. What discomfort I experienced was more of a "tightness" and when I walked I felt as if I had a weight belt around my waist with weights pulling down. I also had some lipo suction on my sides/flank area and my inner thighs. No pain there, just a numbness kind of feeling. On Wednesday at 1 pm I went back to my MD office fro 24 hour post op exam. I walked without assistance and again no pain to speak of. I then went home to my own recliner- used it for another 2 days before I graduated to sleeping in bed. On Sunday, post-op day #5, I was bored and got dresses in sweats and went to the movies and then shopping at Sam's Club - I did use their motorized shopping lark. On my 1week follow up- the Nurse reminded the two drains and MD exam resulted in all being great. Next week I get my sutures removed from my new bellybutton area. I contemplated this proceeded for almost 2 years before actually doing it . My MD gave me the same rate as before. I was able to talk with him and he took time answering my questions and offered additional advice /info - making me feel safe and very trusting of him. I am very happy and satisfied at this point. Today is post-op day # 11, I took 2 Motrin when I got up and made breakfast for my husband/me, and I did somelight housework, went out to my tread mill x 15 min - avj pace, as soon as I finish this review, I'm headed to the movies.

I've been to this MD 2 times. First time for a brow lift and blephoplasty - was very pleased with the results. Then I went back 2 years later for abdominoplasty and liposuction. Dr L placed an " on Q pain pump which delivered pain med directly to surgical site. What a blessing! I never had "pain", only soreness and tightness. By 3 Rd day post op I was taking Ibuprofen for discomfort. I love the looks of my new belly button . Overall I am very satisfied with the Dr. And his staff.
