I'm 23 years old. I'm active and work out minimum 3x a week. I've always had issuses with my stomach. I've tried changing eating habits from clean to cleaner. I've used different metabolic enhancers. Seriously everything. When I realized that if it was this hard to loose my midsection in my 20s how hard would it be in my 30s or older or adter having kids. Honestly the number of my weight doesnt bother me it's how I look and how my clothes fit. So I decided to take the plunge. I went for my consultation May 17th and wound up getting the procedure then. I will continue to update as I go through the 4 month fat loss period.

At 5'6" and 160-165 lbs, you are overweight. Even though you workout 3x per week, the calorie burn from working out isn't getting you into a deficit of calories consumed. You need to look at your calorie intake. Believe me, I have gone down the same path with running 4x/week 6 miles each session and 12 miles on Saturday. I still gained weight! I am 5'5" and fluctuate between 150 - 170 lbs.

While yes I am overweight I've always fluctuated between my current weight and 150. But at my doctors recommendation I'm not suppose to weigh under 145. I've always been chesty and it doesnt changes when I loose weight. I stay the same bra size no matter if I'm 140 or 165. I found all this out because I did get to 140 without really noticing, I was really busy then, and was having a lot of complications. One trip to my doctor and a talk with a nutritionist later this was the information given to me.

"Eating clean" usually means eating more vegetables and GMO-free things.Metabolic cleansers are a waste of money. Such stuff doesn't work. Try low-carbing - no bread, very limited starches, very limited fruits, enough of meat, eggs, butter, fish, avocados, low-carb vegetables. It looks like you have not only subcutaneous fat, but also a visceral fat - the type not treatable by lipo and sculpting. It will get worse after 35 yo. I have been there.

I don't eat bread anyways due to gluten sensitivy problems. I'm not full blown celiac but at times it seems like I might as well be. And yes this is from a doctor not just a diet craze. When I say clean eating I mean I eat mostly green vegatables, lean meat, drink lots of water, and I rarely eat anything fried. While yes everyone has both fats inside of them there's no way without a ct scan do decipher exactly how much is there. The metabolic things I have taken were more so to keep your metabolism steady throughout the stay so I don't crash working a 12 hour day. While also helping keep triglycerides sugar levels and some other vitals in check. The cleansing part comes from the probiotics taken seperately to help keep good bacteria in and flush out bad. Which is essentially what any probiotic will do taken effectively.

For me it looks like that what you are doing is not working well for you. You tried one diet approach, than made it stricker, after it didn't work, you decided nothing else could be done lifestyle-wise. It is not a criticism, just a desire to help from somebody who couldn't find what was working for me for most of my adult life. A lean meat + leafy vegetables doesn't seem to be a good idea - if you don't eat enough fat, than it is either too much protein, or too much carbs, I am not considering a possibility of undereating every day. Eating too much of plants also contributes to bloating. BTW, people who are adapted to fast don't experience crashes during the day and even exercising in a fasted state http://gettingstronger.org/2010/11/learning-to-fast/. If you decide to try something else, consider a low-carbohydrates diet with a combination of intermittent fasting , which means not snaking, eating no more than 2 - 3 meals a day within an 8 hours window. Of course, it is better to stay away from all seeds and graines if you are a border-line celiac. Please, let me know if my advice is annoying for you.
May 24, 2016
Your advice is an annoying. I'm just paraphrasing things that I've done the professionals. Whether they be doctors dietitians or what have you. Including personal trainers. And like I said it's the paraphrased version it's not the detailed step-by-step of everything that I do and or eat. It's not that I've only tried one or two things this is been an ongoing thing for most of my life no matter what sort of diet exercise combination or anything else has or has not done for me. I'm not saying things that I've done have or have not worked I'm just saying that I started this procedure because of not having lasting results and seeing only gain or loss in one area not overall.
May 24, 2016
If my advice is annoying, and you indeed think that the professionals put you on a right track, there is nothing else for me to say. Have a nice day.
May 24, 2016
I'm sorry. I did not mean to offend. Often I use voice to text and the sentence should have read your advice is not annoying. Again did not mean to offend.

Ок, I just want to add the last thing - only you can find what works for you by personal experimenting. Nutritional science nowadays is not up to standards of science, and exercising is not particularly helpful for a weight loss. Again - good luck, you have your whole life ahead to solve your issue. I figured out what to do for myself only by 46 years old, and now I am 55. I am doing pole fitness now after different sport injuries caused by more high-impact activities.

You are correct that her diet probably sounds good to her but will not help with fat burning. I had to go on a high fat diet to begin burning fat. I eat very few carbs, low protein and high fat. I was always 5'6" and 110 Ibs without an ounce of extra fat until middle age. Then I developed Hashimoto's Thyroiditis and fat around my middle. I was able to lose weight but even at 120 I could not get rid of the belly fat. I did the cool sculpt but tis too early to tell, only three weeks out. Nerve pain around stomach but that ended at about two weeks. I did it in stages with the sides only three days ago. Pretty sore but no nerve pain as with stomach. Compression and Tylenol help. I was not told about ice but took the nerve meds for three nights so I could sleep. Hope it was worth it and thay I don't need further treatment. I did not read the fine print so did not realize there could be a need for further treatment.

Wow, every body is different but the most I ever weighed at 5'6" was 139 and I freaked out and did the Paleo/low carb diet and lost 15 pounds.

Day 4 (almost a week)

meghrs
At first I was nervous because I wasn't feeling a lot of the things others had mentioned in their review. I do feel a little bloated and have not worked out yet but am excited too. I'm trying to also naturally flush out anything I can. I'm consuming a gallon+ of water a day. I did feel some of the effects others mentioned. Sometimes I do feel that deep itching or like I did an intensive ab workout. But over all I just feel really bloated. I plan on taking a picture weekly. So Tuesday will be the one week picture.

I say this knowing that the earliest results can show is 3 weeks. But maybe I'll be able to document the bloating process before the fat reduction starts

What was the procedure like for you?

December 1, 2016
My initial change seemed to happen overnight. My stomach continued to get flatter over time but give it time. I know I know, easier said than done.

Almost a Week (Day 6)

meghrs
Almost a week in and I'm extremely bloated. Partly because of the procedure and partly because I'm close to my cycle and always bloat the week before. I'm still strict on my gallon of water a day because I've read being hydrated helps keep menstrual bloating down.
There's still no pain, soreness, or tingling. Execpt for the small occassion but I'm still excited to see progress.

Thanks so much.
June 23, 2016
I am curious to know what your results have been. Can you tell a difference?
June 23, 2016
I know my clothes fit better. I don't always feel like I look better but I know my clothes look different than they did before. However it processes for 16 weeks. So I'm only in the 4th week which is when results start to appear. So once I'm not bloated from my monthly I am excited to see the results.
June 24, 2016
I went yesterday to the same place as you, North Shore Medical and had a free consult. I just want to make sure I am going to get results. I do know the machine is a generic form of the official coolsculpting machine, hence being able to offer a cheaper price. The staff were extremely nice and polite. So in your opinion you do think it has worked for you?
June 24, 2016
Because you won't start seeing results until the 4th week I can't say too much. Next Tuesday will be my fifth and I'm currently bloated from my monthly. However that being said I have noticed my clothes do fit better. But I haven't seen a change in my overall body yet. It's just too soon to tell. However I am optimistic and believe I will have good results. I've already started considering having a 2nd treatment done in that area in October (after the 16 process) if I love it.
June 24, 2016
Ok, that's encouraging! Please keep me updated on your progress! I am still considering it!
