I began having trouble seeing a few years ago, and...

I began having trouble seeing a few years ago, and I figured I just needed new glasses. New spec didnt solve my trouble seeing, and then I started tearing up a lot. I also have a genetic predisposition to have really dark circles under my eyes, and I started looking really tired. I went into a consult with Dr. Windle deliberately without looking up what surgery entailed. Although he knew what my goal was (brow lift), he asked me to tell him what it was I really was seeing when I looked at myself. I hadn't really thought about my decision from that perspective, so I took some time and told him "well, I just look TIRED all the time". He smiled, and said 'we can do something about that!". He explained that the brow lift would open up my eyes so I could see better, and we discussed whether to use Bellafill or fat transfer (which is fairly old school), and we settled on using Bellafill minimally. Dr Windle is conservative in his approach and I like his philosophy that it is better to look natural and rested, and "improved" rather than make a drastic change. I was grateful that though I didn't necessarily ask a lot of questions, I was given a lot of information, and TIME was taken to help me make a good decision about surgery and filler.

The first step on surgery day was to answer any remaining questions I might have, and a detailed explanation was given about bellafill, how it worked and where exactly it was being placed. I was not ever rushed or pushed about the decisions I made on quantity and placement of the bellafill which I was very grateful for. Dr Windle doesnt push product, rather he uses excellent product for excellent results in just the right amount. Bellafill application is not super fun, and I'm pretty tough, so only a few dirty words later and I was ready for step 2.

Surgery was pretty interesting. For a brow lift Dr Windle uses a a twilight sedative. There are several reasons why this is really great; 1) he can talk to you and explain what he is doing, 2) when you are awake, he can position your brow well ("so you don't look surprised") and 3) so you wake up and recover more quickly.

Surgery went well. That first 24 hours is very headachy, and you feel a lot of pressure -- I didnt need pain meds, I just took tylenol and aleve. I suggest if you do this, that you get a bed wedge pillow, because it saved me. You need to have your head elevated and this is really easy.

It has been about 90 days since my surgery and I am back to "normal" and have been for some time. I was up loading boxes a week later as we were moving, and though I dont recommend doing a lot of bending over at the waist initially, I am no worse for the wear for having done so.

Images of before and after are only a couple of weeks apart. I look even better now. I experienced some surgery site hair loss, and initially I wore hats, etc . I did cut my hair shorter while it is growing back but that is MINOR beans. I can see and I look rested and healthier.

Summary: If you need surgery and you don't know where to start, get yourself to Dr. Windle's office. You will not meet an nicer physician. He takes his time to understand what you need, he makes excellent recommendations and I was never 'upsold" on any products or further treatments. Now that I am past what i would consider a biggish plastics operation, I am looking forward to getting the rest of me in better shape and tucking in my 3 C section tummy. I probably waited ten years too long for this part, but I know I am going to be in very capable hands, and being a chicken is not an option anymore :)

Oh here's a nice side-note; not only can I see, and my eyes stopped watering all the time, but I can wear makeup (liiner/shadow/mascara) again, and it doesn't wear off!

I recommend Dr Windle with ten out of ten "stars" :)
