Here they are!
I'm so exhausted today so I won't write too much but I wanted to add some pictures because I'm so over the moon!
I had a friend come over today to change my dressings (she's a nurse) and was able to see them for the first time. I'm so soo in love with them! You can see in the pictures where the marker is on my tummy, that's where they originally hung!! They are bruising a bit, does anyone know if it's safe to start using the Arnica gel right away?
I thought they looked to be about a B cup but my friend says they look more like a C to her.
I'm really sore today but it's bearable, and I'm still taking the hydromorphone. Using ice packs has really helped as well. Going to go back to sleep now though, I'm so drowsy!

Day of treatment
On the other side!!
Well I made it! Surgery was super quick. When I was first called in around 8am they took me into a small room and I chatted with my PS, he was very direct about what I needed to know and said he would make me a C cup. He also said I was free to shower tomorrow if I wanted to, just to keep the tape over the incisions. So he drew on me using this weird metal guide and then he said he would see me there!
Then the Anesthesiologist came to talk to me, she was soooo nice, she even asked what kind of music I would like for the surgery. I told her alternative hehe.
After that they made me say goodby to my friend, I hugged him a little too long because I was scared and felt a bit like crying. Then I was escorted to the OR and they asked me a couple questions, my full name, what procedure am I having done. The anesthesiologist even delivered with the music and I got to fall asleep to Blind Melon!
Next thing I know I'm waking up in recovery, it was around 10am and I didn't feel much besides a bit of stinging. Thank goodness I don't have drains either... They gave me two tylenols and a Dilaudid and after a bit I felt nothing. I asked the nurse how much he had removed and she told me about 1.5lbs from each side, that seems crazy to me! Once I was up and awake enough to go to the bathroom, I was allowed to leave!
All in all I was there for 5 hours, but the first hour was waiting in the waiting room so I'd say I did pretty great!
I'm in a bit of pain now but mostly because I was just up walking around and lifting my arms ect.. I ate a bagel with butter for dinner which hit the spot! I just took two more Dilaudid so now I plan on binge watching The Office and hopefully getting some sleep, so happy I did this!!

Congrats on your surgery! I just came across your profile. Thank you for sharing your journey with us! Wishing you a painless and speedy recovery! That's great toy have people to help take care of you, because the first week will be the roughest. The first few days, besides getting up to walk around every few hours to help keep the blood flowing and alleviate blood clots, you will be in your 'comfy' spot and resting. Every day will get better and better though. As far as your music festival, I'm not sure. You will have to see hope you are feeling. I was feeling ok, but still taking it easy. Right before i hit a month post-op, we went to pick up our son about 5-6 hours in the car and then we went to a race and i did ok until about the last hour. Just be careful! Listen to your body, that's number one! Not sure what your weather will be like, but you definitely don't want to be sweating too much... Well, I'm sure this is a book by now. Oh, i noticed you bought a bunch of pillows, did you buy one of those travel neck ones by any chance? If you didn't and you're finding it hard to sleep upright or angled, i would definitely recommend having someone pick one up for you! That saved my next! Also, not sure if your doc said you can ice, but i loved my ice too! :) Hope you are feeling great! :)

Thanks so much for reading my review and for your kind words! I just starting icing like you recommend and you are right, it helps a lot!! I'm going to get a neck pillow as well, I didn't even think of that, it would probably help a lot at night as I am usually a side sleeper. I took a peek at your review as well, you look great! I hope I get the same type of results, I haven't had a peek at the yet, hopefully later this afternoon!

You are very welcome and thank you for sharing! I'm sorry i didn't come across it sooner or i would have been able to give you suggestions pre-op, but better late than never! Yes, I loved my ice and still do if I'm feeling a bit swollen. :) Another member mentioned the neck pillow to me and it was the best for my recovery for sure! I'm usually a side sleeper too, but I hurt my ankle and got used to sleeping on my back. So, with my wedge, it helped keep me at an angle and the neck pillow helped keep my neck from getting kinked up. I didn't know if it would work because i have a smaller neck, but it was great! I was able to put it on and lean my head to whatever side and I was out! Thank you for the kind words as well! I definitely cannot complain about my results so far! I'm a little OCD, so I know they aren't perfect, but they weren't to begin with either, but they are 100% better than they were! I didn't take my first peak until day 3 or 4. You are brave! I wasn't even thinking about taking anything off for the first few days! I can't wait to see how you look though! I'm sure you will look great though! Especially if your sister recommended the same surgeon, you must be in good hands! Congrats again and happy healing!

Hi!!! Congrats I had mine done yesterday as well ... At the same time almost!!! They sent me home with Percocet which made me nauseous and itchy all over. I called this morning to see if I could get something else... But I have to come in to do that and I love an hour away- so I asked if I could just rotate Tylenol/ibuprofen and they said yes.
I woke up in a lot of pain but they got that under control quickly and I've been pretty good. Spelt on my back last night which I was dreading but I made it ok. Overall I'm shocked at how good I feel- I'm still resting and taking it easy but my shoulders/ neck are instantly better. I'm so happy and haven't even seen them yet. Debating about a shower... I can just not sure I want to yet!!

Thanks, congrats to you too!! Isn't it so strange to feel them and think.. "Whoa, these are mine now!"
Sorry to hear about your meds, I hope you can get something else to help with the pain, I can't imagine the Tylenol would be strong enough!
I'm shocked as well, I was so afraid of the pain that I was almost in tears but now that it's over I feel elated!
I haven't seen mine yet either, I'm dying to but I'm afraid it will hurt to take the dressing off. I think a shower might be a bit much right now, they are just so sensitive!
Keep me posted, can't wait to hear how they look when you finally do get to see them! I'll post a new update when I get my dressings off too!

I haven't posted any pictures yet- I did take bra off and gauze but didn't shower- maybe tomorrow. They are very high and tight- which I'm sure will settle after swelling goes down.
I did Advil/Tylenol all day but broke down and Percocet tonight before bed.. I had a lot more to eat today so I think that has helped. Resting more tomorrow. I can't believe what I see I the mirror.... It's like not even me!! I'm so happy and so worth it!! Good luck and keep those arms down!!

Glad you got to sneak a peek as well. How did the Perc. go this time around? I'm starting to get a bit itchy on the hydromorphone as well so I may try to just use Tylenol tomorrow. I'm wondering why they say to keep your arms down? Is that for comfort or will putting them up actually do damage to the healing? Because I seem to be fine moving them around, I was brushing my hair tonight and whatnot.

They just told me to make sure I wasnt reaching UP too much and straining. I took a shower today which was totally weird! I kept waiting for my boobs to drop down!! They feel so weird!
I am taking just Advil/Tylenol on a rotation and at seems to be good enough... Not worth the sick stomach to take the Percocet.
I go back guess Tuesday and am so excited to see what he says-
I bought one of those pillows that prop you up and has arms on the side? Like you would see in college dorm rooms- that's been a life saver at night. I would say the only thing that hurts right now are those "firings" of nerves to my nipple that lasts about 15 seconds then passes. Those are quite the wake up call!!!

UPDATED FROM Newo Ikkin
1 day pre
Surgery tomorrow!!!!
Well, tomorrow is the big day! I went shopping yesterday and picked up a bunch of things I thought I'd need: extra strength Tylenol, Stool softener, Arnicare (topical arnica gel) a front zip sports bra, a front close night gown, 3 new pillows (that makes 5 total), a bunch of gatorade, crackers, protein packed veggies/beans/grains/eggs (I'm a vegetarian).
The surgery is scheduled for 7:45am, they asked me to be at the hospital for 6:30. I've asked my best friend/roommate to come with me, he'll keep me the most calm plus he knows everything about me so if I blurt something stupid while coming to, I won't be embarrassed ahah. For some reason I'm actually worried about that, so silly! He'll be keeping my family updated as well.
I'm pretty calm right now, it's actually confusing me because I'm normally a very anxious person. I'm super freaked about the pain though, it's the only thing I'm afraid of, my doctor gave me .5mg of Ativan because she knows how freaked I am. I know .5 is basically nothing but I'm going to take it before bed regardless.
Does anyone have any other advice for me? It doesn't seem like my review is getting much interest but writing it out is helping with this journey regardless.
My next post will most like be made from the other side. The that picture is of my spilling out of my DDD.. I can't wait to have small boobies!!!
