After the birth of my second child I couldn’t get rid of the “pooch” in my lower stomach. As I got older it got worse. I am now 46 years old and my children are grown. I decided it was time to get rid of my bulging belly. I do go to the gym and I have lost 8 inches in my waist but no matter how hard I try I can’t seem to get rid of the last bit of my protruding belly! I wanted something not too evasive. I looked at smart lipo and cool sculpting. I decided on the least evasive, cool sculpting. I researched it and finally scheduled an appointment. I had it done yesterday 05/22/12. For those that haven’t had it done I will explain the process. The doctor looked at the area to be done and measured it to determine the correct size plate to use. He used the large plate for my lower abdomen. The area wass marked and a gel pad was placed. Then the machine was attached. If you relax more tissue is drawn up into the machine and it isn’t as uncomfortable. This felt a little weird but not painful. It just feels like tugging. After a few minutes it started to become very uncomfortable but not unbearable. There is a stinging/burning sensation. For me this did not go away after a few minutes, I felt it the entire hour. When the hour is up they will pull the machine off and peel the gel pad off. This part was not painful but felt weird. The area was extremely cold and stiff and looked very distored. The nurse massaged it and it went down some. She told me to continue massaging it throughout the day to help break down the fat. The skin surface is numb and very sensitive to touch. I had some mild cramping later in the evening but nothing really that bad. I didn’t have to take anything for pain and slept as I normally do. The next day, today, it is numb and mildly tender. If I press on it deep it is sore. I am still swollen but not nearly as much as I was yesterday. I didn't think to take a picture before the procedure but I will post one in a few days when it goes down.

Day 7 - I started having the intense bee stinging 3 days ago! Before that nothing really painful. It is very intense. I know a lot of people say they have a high tolerance for pain and you don't really know but I honestly do! I had two kids, 14 hours of labor with the first, and had zero pain meds! I don't get numbing meds when I have my teeth filled! I didn't take any pain medication after having a tendon repair, only Ibuprofen. This is tolerable during the day but at night I can't sleep! I am going to try ice as some others have suggested. Wish me luck!

i hope your stinging has went away, i am 22 days in and i stopped having that stabbing/bee sting feeling on about day 10. Just think everytime you feel some pain it's just another fat cell dying away :)

I am still having the stinging. I can stand it during the day but I can't sleep at night! I got a prescription for a neuropathy gel and it has helped. I was able to sleep last night. I thought I had a high pain tolerance but I guess as I have gotten older it has deminished! : ) I hope you are correct steph620, pain = fat cells dying because if it is true I will have excellent results!
