Facelift with lower eyelid surgery to remove jowels, neck sag and under eye bags. After 3 children I was ready to begin my journey back in time to a pre-mom form. I have read getting the surgery at a younger age will maximize longevity of results since I will be caring meticulously for my age-related symptoms right away without delay. I am good at up-keep of my appearance and plan to continue to be so for the rest of my life. I am post-op day 7 with swelling on the left side of my face more than the right. I look a bit like a "lemonhead" now and am praying this swelling resolves completely....will keep the post updated on my progress.

The surgeon was kind and asked how I was throughout the surgery. He was mindful of my surgical experience sine I was awake the whole time. It was pretty scary but he helped to relax me through the process my talking to me. The Sonobello staff were friendly and kind. The only downer was I wish they had called to check-in on me for a few days postop which they did not. This place is not private practice and has sort of a "production-line" kind of feel about it. However, overall it was a good place.

Hi Michele. You look great for day 7! It doesn't look like you have much bruising at all. The swelling look minimal at this point too..lucky girl. I honestly think your before pic looks great too but good for you to have noticed some early changes in your face and neck and to do something about it early on. You'll be better off for it! Congratulations!!

Thanks! But i am so very worried about the sides of my face they are so swollen and i look like a lemonhead without that wrap. The left eye stitches are kind of uneven and not smooth like the right is (my right). How long till i look normal?

Hi Michele. The swelling could take weeks to resolve. I don't think you can really evaluate the eye area while still swollen as everything looks different during that time. Do the things suggested to keep the swelling to a minimum. Are you sleeping upright and eating a low sodium diet? Relax and let your body heal. You will be less swollen and beautiful for sure in another week or two.

Still swelling on left more than right side of face. I look like a lemonhead! My stitched frim the eyelid surgery on the left are uneven and more swollen than left..

it took 2 hours surgery time. I was awake the whole time so that was hard...I didn't feel anything though but could smell the burning skin and hear them working under my skin since it was right by my ears...kinda yucky!

Hang in there .. I think the swelling plays with everyone's head. Keep posting ., you can see the benefits already. A quick question .. Were you cut around the back of the ear and or under the chin ? I'm considering a similar procedure. Thank you for sharing your journey.

Yes the swelling is driving me a little crazy. I am looking forward to seeing the final results in a month or so.... I will be turning 40 in January and my plan is to look like I am turning 30! Haha we shall see right!

Sorry, yes I had the cut in front of ears and back (standard I think). The incisions are healing well there....just under the left eye I worry about because it looks uneven and lumpy
