I had LASIK in 2004. I had small Rx and regular astigmatism. No major eye problems at all before the surgery. I was happy and just wanted to be less dependent on my glasses.

I was 20 at the time of the surgery and my Dr. destroyed my eyesight. I had large pupils and dry eye, which are counter indicators for LASIK. I now am legally blind from the surgery and Dr. A has written me a letter stating he can no longer be my doctor or wishes to help me (I have to take several medicines for the rest of my life and he refuses to refill any of medicine - such as Alphagan P or Pilocarpine - two glaucoma medicines given those who had bad LASIK outcomes).

Even though I paid for a lifetime commitment from Dr. A, he knew that the surgery should not have been performed on me. I had pupils that were 8.5mm each, and the largest FDA approved lasers could only go to 6.5mm, which means every time my pupils are larger than 6.5mm (90% of the time), my eyesight is worthless and I see double, triple, quadruple vision. "Blend zones" that go out to 8, 9, 10mm don't matter because only the OPTICAL ZONE gets full treatment. In addition, LASIK severs the nerves in cornea, and those nerves never, never heal. My existing dry eye was made much, much, MUCH worse. The dry eye leaves me in constant pain.

Please do not go to my Dr. and DO NOT get LASIK.

You state that you are "legally blind". Are you aware that term means that you cannot be corrected with glasses, contacts or surgery to vision better than 20/400 ???

Was there a complication other than the size of your pupils ?
