Update
It's close to a year and a half out, and I wouldn't do this again if I had the chance. At first, I was thrilled, but my recovery is still ongoing, and my scar looks terrible. The doctor was less than friendly when I met with him about my swelling. In fact, he seemed to come in on the defense and he was very mean to me about my weight gain (which, from my memory, has been 10 lbs since the date of surgery). It doesn't help that I still can't run (my work out of choice) because of my surgery, but that wasn't really addressed. By no means is a 10 lbs weight gain insignificant, but there are ways to discuss sensitive matters with patients that were totally bypassed. His tone was derogatory, and he was less than helpful. I regret my decision at this point, and if I could delete this entire post singing his praises, I would. He may be a great doctor for some, but I would highly suggest asking a ton of questions and really feeling out any doctor you are considering going to. This was an unpleasant experience to say the least. I'm hopeful that I will find a doctor (after I lose the weight I gained post op) that can figure out why my stomach is bulging (blamed on weight gain, but this has been an ongoing issue since the day after surgery), and fix this horrendous scar.
Swelling??
I am almost 6 months out, and although I have been happy with the results, I am a little concerned with the top of my abdomen. I am still swelling quite a bit for no apparent reason (I had to stop exercising because my swelling would get out of control!) It's only the top half of my stomach that is swelling and will suddenly feel numb to the touch. It is bothersome because it doesn't look very good when I swell up. I will wear the binder with a cami under it in an attempt to get the swelling under control, but when I take it off, I swell up within an hour. Has anyone else had this sort of issue this far out?
Pictures from almost 4 months out! I am bikini ready!!
