8 weeks post op and counting :)
Well, Monday was 8 weeks since my surgery. It's great to see the progress of healing. I haven't really been putting mederma twice a day, but maybe once a day or in a day.. which is not the best way to go if you want the scar to fade away sooner, but my life has been a bit hectic so for now, it is what it is. I am just happy to have healed so nicely. Had my final post op with the doc. Everything looks great and I asked a couple of questions that were on my mind: 1) laser hair removal can be done when scar redness goes away... well, in that case, shaving or waxing is the way to go... otherwise I think it's a waste of money if you can't use laser for the whole hairy area...lol 2) if I were to remember my young years and want to get a belly ring... I was asked to give it 6 more months.. so... no belly ring, no laser hair removal treatment until next summer probably. Now I was also instructed to not do no push ups, sit ups and anything abdominal for another month. Other exercises including swimming are allowed at this time. So all I can say now is I have to remind myself to use mederma and I can not wait to go swimsuit shopping! :))
New pain
Well, everything was going well, now I developed some pain on my left side of the abdomen and this pain is worse when i bend down ... i have no discharge, my incision is healing very nicely but this pain is a bit bothersome... any ideas? Will be calling the office later today...
4 weeks follow up!
Today was my 4 week follow up visit with Dr Rogers. I got a couple of stich nots trimmed and got my pic taken. I am now to 12 hours for garment wear, so I feel like I am getting my freedom back... lol but now I get to use Mederma twice a day on my incision scar. Next follow up is in a month. Doc said I had lots of swelling still so the end result is far from being formed but I am extremely happy with what I see today in the mirror.
