I am a 24 year old who ALWAYS looks tired. I am tired of people coming to me and asking me if i had enough sleep. I have done my research and visited many websites. I narrowed my search to 2 doctors. I went in for a consultation with my 1st choice and decided he was the one. I set a date, March 17.

Some people tell me that they are not that bad. I think that they are huge but I will let you all be the judge of that.

Thanks for posting pics! I don't think they look so bad, but I also know that pictures can be deceiving and they may be worse in real life.

They really aren't bad at all, but it's really up to you and how you feel about them. If getting them "fixed" will make you feel better, then you definitely should do it.

Day 1, 2, and 3
NewJaideMarch 20, 2015
Day 1: My surgery went great. I went in there and don't remember a thing. I came home a few hours later and felt no pain at all. The anesthesia didn't affect me at all either. I was on a juice/soup diet for the rest of the day, just in case. I iced all day in hopes of keeping the swelling to a minimum.
Day 2: I woke up, felt no pain. The swelling is crazy. I didn't know my face could get this swollen. The bruises aren't showing yet. I am dying of boredom, i read reviews that said to stay away from tv, and computers, and reading. I think that's the hardest part of this, that i have nothing to do besides sleep and eat.
Day 3: I woke up and my head was pounding and felt a little light headed. My eyes were glued shut by this white discharge that was coming out of them. I didn't know if it was normal so i called the doctor just to make sure. My face is more swollen than day 2, but the swelling isn't as high as it was before. It seems to have moved to the rest of my face. Instead of just having swollen eyes, now my whole face looks fat lol. The doctor office did call me back to let me know that everything seemed normal. My head hurts more when i try to move my eyes. The pain is coming from behind the eyes. I haven't taken any pain medicine at all but i think i might just give in today and take some Tylenol.
I think the most uncomfortable thing is just having to sleep with my head elevated. I cant get comfortable and my neck hurts because I'm not used to sleeping like this.

Will you post some pics so we can see your bags? I had the same issue and waited years to have a lower bleph, I wish I would have done it at your age. Keep us posted!
Just eat well and drink lots of water both pre-op and post op. You won't want to deal with cooking after surgery so freezing some easy meals now is a good idea. Pre-packaged frozen meals are loaded with salt and they will make you look more swollen. The surgery itself isn't too bad and the initial recovery is really fast- you look like you got in a fight for a week or two. Day 4 is always the worst it seems. Then the bruises fade and you just deal with lingering swelling for a few months, which is discouraging because you feel fine. I took bromelain (a pineapple enzyme) and arnica tablets (the highest dose ones) for two weeks before and two weeks after. I used arnica gel topically after surgery to help break the bruises down faster (I didn't have external stitches so it was fine). You can get all that stuff at a health food store like Whole Foods or online.
It really isn't too bad, assuming no complications. Keep us posted on all of it!
