In my twenties my labia minora started to slowly protrude past my labia majora until they got to about 1/2 inch long. At that time I started looking for a surgeon to do a "lift" of some sort on this saggy skin. I did not feel uncomfortable going to a male but was uncertain if they would instinctively suggest a look that men would want as oppose to what I wanted. My first reason for doing this procedure was out of comfort, then aesthetics as a bonus. The lips were becoming unpleasant during sex as they felt like they were getting pinched. I brought a photo with me to Dr. Dana's office of what I wanted the result to look like and they reassured me that they would give me the look I wanted and not choose the look for me. Dr. Dana suggested a hood reduction as well so that the new smaller lips would be proportionate. I'm so glad she offered that and I did decide to go with that. The recovery period was more intense for me than what I was told the average person goes through. There were sharp pains and itching that I was told were the nerve endings healing. The lip area had a numbness feeling to it for awhile but did eventually go away. I massaged the scars everyday for more that 3 months while I was in the shower to speed up the recovery and make sure that the tissue would heal softly. The hood area had very little recovery time it seemed, maybe 2-3 weeks and it was back to normal. It took about 3 months to feel very normal down there and around a year to feel almost like it never happened. The lips eventually started to sag, to where I asked them to be. At first it appeared she had cut too much! However, that wasn't the case. I did develop a minor yeast infection on my skin due to falling asleep with the hemorrhoid wet patches on (used to ease the pain right after surgery). Also, a stitch tore during recovery so one lip looks a little torn and hangs a little further. Dr. Dana is fine with putting another stitch in there and fixing that up. The staff made me feel very comfortable. Most of the staff, if not all, are all female and have peppy attitudes, happy to make you feel at ease. Dr. Dana and her staff were always available for my calls and questions after surgery. She scheduled me follow up appointments to check on things. Since I was coming from a long road trip, it was convenient that she offered me to stay a night at the Hilton hotel across the street so that my next day check up was convenient. I do not regret this surgery and feel I made the right decision for myself to have it done.

She was honest about her skill set and what she could offer me. Good listener, let me tell her what I wanted to achieve, gave me her opinions and we reached a decision together. Would suggest her as a surgeon.
