I've always had a long space between my nose and upper lip, and my lip was a bit asymmetrical so I had the lip lift done by Dr. Mardirossian to correct this. He and his office staff were very helpful and friendly, as usual. The procedure took about an hour in his office. I was given injections of numbing agents (lidocaine?) and my lip immediately swelled up. I had my eyes closed most of the time but occasionally opened them to see what was going on. I saw the thin strip of skin the doctor was removing. It looked so tiny! Then he cauterized me and stitched me up.

I was quite swollen immediately afterward. It started decreasing on day 3, and was totally gone by day 4. I kept the stitches moist with antibacterial ointment both to help healing and so I couldn't feel them itch too bad. The first day or two there was some uncomfortableness, but I wouldn't really call it painful. On day 7 I went back to the doctor to get the stitches removed. You can definitely see the scar at this point. I go back to work in 3 days so hopefully some of the redness will go away and I'll be able to cover it with makeup. I've attached 4 pictures - before, the swelling the day of the surgery, the stitches as the swelling started to go down, and the day the stitches were removed (day 7). I can see the shortening of the distance between the nose and upper lip and I'm very very happy with that. The asymmetry wasn't corrected, so I'm taking off a point and a half for that. So as of now, I give Dr. M an 8.5 out of 10 for this procedure. I'll update in a week or two to check the progress of the scar healing.

Your lips are very pretty both before the procedure and definitely afterwards. May I ask where asymmetry is that you spoke of? Also wondering if Dr. Mardirossian does corner lip lifts? How many millimeters did he remove. What were your measurements before the procedure and what are they now? Best to you as you continue to heal.

Thank you :) I don't know about corner lip lifts. He took about 3mm. I believe I was 19mm before and 16mm now.

Hi hun- I am also interested in going to Dr. M for jaw shaving/contouring as well as a lip lift. Are you happy with the jaw contouring? And for the lip lift how is scarring? Is it easy to cover w/makeup?

Hi, yes, overall I'm happy with the jaw contouring. Going in, I knew that there would be a possibility of jowling, and it did happen. More so on one side of my face that already had a bit of extra fat no matter what weight I was at. I've looked into facial lipo but I decided against it because I thought they might take too much and it would look weird, as well as I might need that fat someday if I want a facelift. I will probably get some filler to even out the contour.

That said, Dr. M tends to be conservative, which I like, so if you're looking for a dramatic change you may not get it. It depends on your face shape to begin with. But I didn't have any complications or issues and the healing process wasn't bad, and I'm glad I did it with him.

The lip lift redness around the incision area is my biggest concern right now. I tried using concealer but the indentation from the incision line is visible when I do that. The incision line isn't noticeable without makeup, but there's a ton of redness and that IS noticeable. So I've ordered some Dermaflage that was just delievered today and I'm going to try that. It's basically tinted silicone filler used to fill in wrinkle lines and scars. As the redness goes down, I don't think it will be noticeable at all but until that happens, I'll need to do something to cover it. I'm also using ScarAway silicone gel. The redness has gone down a lot, whether it's from regular healing or the gel, I don't know. But as long as it continues to fade I'm happy!

Thanks for the input. I don't know if I want a conservative difference. I was actually looking into Jaw contouring/V-line surgery in Korea (which they are known for doing thousands and thousands of cases, because Koreans in general have a more square shaped face, and they mostly undergo this procedure), but it seems so much more invasive but gives you a dramatic change. However they also do a CT scan to see how the bone looks and plan out your surgery so they don't hit the fascial nerves, etc. However with my consult with Dr.M over Skype he never mentioned that so I'm guessing he doesn't request that? So, he just does it free-hand which kind of scares me. But then going to Korea also scares me ahah! I guess I have to keep doing more research...

Yeah, I thought about the Korean style surgery as well, but I was just too chicken. The results look amazing though! No, Dr. M doesn't do a CT scan; it's free hand. Best wishes in your research!

Your lips looks great so far, hope you're healing well!

Thank you! I haven't been on the site for a while. It's virtually undetectable (with makeup) at this point.

I am also wondering if he does corner/grin lifts.

Did your nose return to the same size or is it permanently a little wider ?
July 23, 2016
I think maybe that was the zoom/angle. My nose doesn't seem to be any wider at all.
