I have been wanting an arm lift since I started my weight loss journey. I was obese my entire life and started my life change with diet and exercise 4 years ago. I have been stable in my 130lb weight loss for a year and I have recently become engaged. Though I have lost so much weight, I am mortified at the thought of seeing myself with saggy, deflated boobs and massively large arms which I have been left with after weight loss. I researched a lot of doctors but honestly only had one consultation and that was with Dr. Dana Goldberg in Jupiter. She was very nice and seemed personable. I like that she is young and has had a breast augmentation herself. It was very important to me to see a female surgeon. I have my pre-op appointment tomorrow 3/3 and my surgery is scheduled for 3/19. I am incredibly nervous as I have never had surgery or broken any bones or been hospitalized before so I am not sure how I will handle the pain but I am sure I want to be a beautiful bride for my wedding in 2016. I will upload some current photos so I can compare post-op.

I'm excited for you and you'll be fine. I had my BP done February 6th here in NYC. Mainly sore. The only pain I experience is when I go overboard with doing things around my apartment against my doctors better judgement. Otheriwise I feel great and my arms look amazing.

It's encouraging to hear your positive experience. After my preop appt today I am feeling slightly less nervous and more excited!

My arms were saggy, crepey...almost gelatinous in texture. My arms were MUCH worse than yours. I also had to do an extension which ended up going down my sides. The scars (which are healing wonderfully) are nothing in comparison to what I had. I would do t his surgery ALL over again. As for scar therapy when you get to that point-the silicone sheets are a pain so I recommend the silicone gel which you can get over the counter. You have a more hands on approach when applying in comparison to the sheets which can get messy. The one thing I also recommend is to take it EASY after your surgery. No need to be Superwoman. It took a month for me to be able to have ALMOST full rotation of my arms with proper post op exercises. Everyone heals and responds differently so don't get frustrated with yourself either. Relax and take in a lot of protein which also promotes healing whether its chicken thighs or shakes and you're on your way.

How's the recovery coming along?

going well. She left a couple of dog ears on me which she will have to revise in her office after 6 months. Once you get the ok from your surgeon, make sure you get in those exercises so you can have full range of motion cause its very difficult to get it back once you're healed completely.

Hi, congratulations on your weight loss. Can you please share the total cost of the surgeries you are planning to have? I am thinking of getting a mini arm lift, breast lift and a tummy tuck done but would prefer a female surgeon. Thanks, Vinita

I listed the cost above. Arm lift with Lipo and breast lift with implant: $13k

Good luck to you

Congrats! You must be excited to heal. I live in Jupiter and had gastric sleeve a few years ago. Will have to check her out. Did you have or are planning any other procedures? How has your pain been so far?

Dr. Dans has been incredible. I would highly recommend her. The first night was the most painful. I woke up with my arms throbbing and my chest felt like an encyclopedia was sitting on it. Every day since then has been better with pain management. I first started out on norco but it wasn't enough so now I am on norco, Percocet and Valium which seems to work well . The worst I feel now is tightness in my chest and arms and that's usually when I'm due for Valium which I take every 6 hours. I'm planning a tummy tuck once I have a baby. I'm getting married in January so hopefully baby will come soon after that and then I'd go back to dr Dana for a tummy tuck. You will not regret going to her.

Please remember that certain surgeons excel at certain procedures. Ask how many TT yours has performed. She has only been in practice 5 years I believe and was going to do my TT and suggested lipo on my back but thankfully the other three doctors I was smart enough to see all said it would make my back far worse as I have loose skin and no fat. She is also thousands (many) higher than another doctor in your area and $4000 higher than the 2 surgeons who are CERTIFIED by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and featured on their site. I hope this info helps and good luck. I am excited for my surgery also. Please keep us posted on your procedure.

She is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery.... have you heard otherwise? Also, I thought the price was extremely competitive for the area and I was confident in her skill set. Regardless, I am a long way from having a tummy tuck but I personally think she did a really great job on my surgeries.

I'm so happy for you - you made a wise decision. I lost all my weight 20 years ago, had only a breast lift done (insurance paid) however in retrospect wish I had done the arm lift and body lift. A little late now - but I'm checking out the possibilities...great work!

Good luck! My surgery is next Wednesday (getting tummy tuck and arm lift) and I'm also very excited to have some post-op photos to compare to! Keep us updated on how it goes!

Oh please let me know how your tummy tuck goes! I am planning to have one once I have a baby, no sense in stretching it back out and I have yet to have a child so I figure I'd wait but that is very exciting for you! Please keep in touch.

Good luck! I am also thinking of either lipo or arm lift for mine, would love to see your after pics and see how you're doing!

Tomorrow is the big day

Well tomorrow is the day of surgery. Feeling excited and nervous. I'm most concerned about recovery. I am hoping everything heals well so I don't have to miss more work than I planned for. Also the pharmacy that ordered my arm sleeves totally messed up my order and by mess up I mean they forgot to place it! So fingers crossed the sleeves will be in today. If they aren't, I don't know what to do since surgery is tomorrow.

Good luck!! Can't wait to hear how it goes! I actually didn't get sleeves for mine, my doctor just has me using ace bandages which are wrapped around me from elbow to armpit, so that's definitely an option if your sleeves don't come in! You can make them as tight as needed. Let me know if you want to discuss anything else about it!

I had a braichoplasty 6 weeks ago. There really is not much pain. I would say it is more of discomfort than anything. Good luck. You will do fine.

Hi! I'm new to this.. Wishinf u a speedy recovery!!

Hi, how did you get on? Did you have the surgery?

Is it the pharmacy she suggested? They messed up mine. I think it was doctors office who called it in wrong and blamed poor pharmacist.
April 14, 2015
Yes, it was the one they suggested. It was definitely the pharmacy's fault. I went to them in person and ordered it face to face and then they claimed to have "never received an order" and then put me on a long hold and said they "found it" and it would be there by noon the next day which really just sounded like they messed up and ordered it overnight mail to get it in time but it was definitely not the doctor's office fault.
