Spitting suture on areola incision

ReadyForChange30
So I noticed a red irritated area a few days ago along my areola incision and then it started to look scabbed, I showered and the scab sloughed off and underneath was a hole with thick yellow pus at the surface and then bright red blood. I cleaned with hibiclens and then applied neosporin and covered with a bandaid. Will have PS look at it tomorrow but I texted a photo to her assistant and she said it looks like spitting suture and doesn't seem infected. Fingers crossed everything is ok.

Im sure its nothing 2 worry about. Your results have been great! What has the response been with people who dont know you've had the surgery? Have you noticed a change in how u view yourself? Im having a MM in a couple of weeks.

so i am getting the same lift and implants and arm lift ...how long before you could take care of your self and do you think now it was all worth it

I had a same type of "splitting suture" on the inside of my groin, 2 months post Thigh Lift. Nothing infected, just the stitch poking through from underneath. After a day or two of this poking the actual thread came through the skin. A bit painful to pull out but no biggie. Seems the stitches dissolve within 6 months and some make an appearance before then. Of course always check with your PS and mine was always courteous enough to reply to any questions I had regarding this issue. Good Luck

Hope everything is okay with the splitting stitch! I noticed a few with my arm incisions. I had no idea sutures took so long to dissolve.

Hi again, also how are your arms? Do you have any weird-feeling or tight spots along the scar?

Feeling more comfortable...

Scars are healing nicely and are smoothing out. Still very much there but not as noticeable as before.

Yeah recovery has definitely been a journey. Not as simple as you would hope, at least not for me.

if you dont mind me asking, what was your instructions with pain meds, i see you took two different kinds so how often did you take them and what dosage. did you take them together and when did you take valium

It was a whole ago but I was taking meds every 4 hours. I was in incredible amounts of pain. I was definitely taking more meds than most people do because my recovery was so painful. When I was finally off narcotics, I was still taking over the counter pain meds every day for about a month...

did you take one of each every four hours..what was the miligrams on each..sorry but my dr dont hardly give pain meds and weened me off his at ten days after a lower body lift and i died and had to switch to my own so i would love to know

I know it has been two years but are you still happy with your decision to have your arm lift? I have my post op in two days and so nervous because I hear the scars don't fade much. Now that you were two years out has a scar faded pretty well?
