So I paid my deposit and scheduled in November for January 19th... I will be flying to Miami on the 17th to make my pre-op appt on the 18th. I am staying at Keyla's Recovery House for 7 days after and will be getting my lymphatic massages from her as well. So far Dr. Hasan's staff is very good at communicating with me and answering all my questions. I even got my fat cell saver fee waived since I paid for my procedure in full 30+ prior to the surgery date (which they make you pay in full by at least 2 weeks before). I am nervous because I will be going by myself but my friend had a breast augmentation and stayed at Keyla's recovery house and she gave her such high recommendation that once I researched her for myself I put down my deposit to stay with her. Tomorrow I will be one month away from my procedure so any words of wisdom or advice is greatly appreciated as I am very anxious about this...

My procedure was done on Jan. 19th however, I flew to Miami Jan. 17th in order to make it to my pre-op appt at noon on Jan. 18th. KEYLAS RECOVERY HOUSE was where I stayed the day before and during my recovery after procedure (total of 8 days).
Pre-op appt (Day before procedure) Jan 18:
I arrived at JOLIE PLASTIC SURGERY CENTER. Its a pretty busy place but wasn't a very long wait. I wen to the back they fitted me for my garment, took a drug test and yes they do test you for drugs the day before and the day of surgery and will refuse to proceed if you test positive, so be honest about all drug use (recreational and prescriptions). After you are fitted and drug tested you will meet with you surgery coordinator and asked questions about your health and given your prescriptions to be taken after your procedure the next day. They called me around 3pm that same day to give me the time of 7:30am to be at the hospital where my surgery was to take place. Depending on your time of surgery do not eat eight hours prior to your surgery but I didn't eat after 10:30pm. I stayed the night at my recovery house that day as well.
DAY OF SURGERY JAN 19:
I could hardly wait to get there. I got there a little late due to the Uber. Once I arrived I went in the back to be screened again for drugs and to sign the paper work regarding my procedure. A lot of people say that Dr. Hasan and his staff are rude, but I just feel like they take what they are doing very seriously and you would want a staff that is more formal with you than lax. My blood pressure was a little high from me being nervous but I calmed down once they told me that I wouldn't be able to get the procedure with my blood pressure high. The anesthesiologist came and talked to me and started a plastic catheter in my wrist with just some saline water to hydrate me since it had been several hours since I has eaten or drank anything.
Dr. Hasan came in last to mark all the areas that he would be lipo-ing and adding to. The surgeon looks nothing like his picture on here. He looks much more handsome and buffer in person. He does not have the mustache. While he was in the room with me he noted that I had been a daily smoker and told me that even though I had stopped smoking for 40 days that some of the fat that is deposited to my butt and hips may not survive due to me being a regular smoker for 10+ years. He also noted that since I was pretty slim and didn't have that much fat if I had a choice between projection or hips which would I rather have. I choose projection.
Going into the operating room is pretty nerve wrecking and surreal. They wiped me down with iodine and laid me on the bed. It was freezing cold I started to shiver. The anesthesiologist came in and began to administer the medicine that would put me to sleep... That is the last thing that I remember before I woke up from surgery.
When I woke up from surgery, I was laying on my stomach and Dr. Hasan was on my left side. He asked me was I ok and told me "Girl you had more fat hidden inside than I thought, I was able to give you not only projection but hips as well." I was so happy!... Then the shivers from the anesthesia began. It was so bad my teeth were cutting my lips and cheek from shivering. The nurse gave me plenty blankets and even a hose with heated air and I still was freezing. My recovery house was super late picking me up from surgery so the nurse let me walk around some to let the anesthesia wear off some. Now immediately after surgery I was sore all over but not in pain particularly. It just felt as if I was in a bad car accident or had been tackled really hard. I mean I could walk after surgery and even walked into the house to the bed where I stayed.
The ride back to the recovery house was kinda rough because I was laying on my stomach and I could feel every single bump on the road.
Once I got to the recovery house I felt pretty okay. I was starving so I ate as much soup as I could that Keyla made. It was delicious. My sister had driven down from Virginia and stayed with me the first couple of days.
The first couple of days were a blur. I dont really remember much from the meds I was on. I had lymphatic massages every day and I drained every day. Elsie was my lymphatic masseuse and she did a pretty good job. I didnt have any drains like many of the other girls that stayed in my recovery house. So I had to wear tape gauze and other materials to keep from soaking my faja.
MY FIRST WEEK RECOVERY:
Well there is really nothing enjoyable about the recovery part whatsoever. You can't sit, you have to eat either on your knees or on your stomach and you are pretty stiff. The skin that was lip'd was soooo sensitive even a rub felt pretty painful. Just remember to take your meds everyday as prescribed and get your massages. Thank GOD for Amazon Prime Now I was able to get all the groceries I wanted and even some hygiene items without having to leave my bed. It was interesting to meet the other girls in the recovery house and see what they were getting or had gotten done and their experiences with other doctors as well.
SECOND WEEK OF RECOVERY:
I flew back home a week post op. I requested a wheelchair the day before so I didn't really have too many issues with getting to my gates on time. When I landed my mom picked me up and took me home. I ached pretty bad from moving around and having to sit on my thighs during the flights. The second week was pretty boring. Couldn't really get around well since it had snowed where I was staying to recover. I had to adjust to not being able to sit and eat with my family like normal but I think the worst part was how sore my arms were from pushing myself up everytime I had to do something. My arms are pretty strong now from having to put my weight on them about a hundred times a day lol.
WEEK 3:
I could finally sit on my BBL pillow I got from Amazon. It's not the most comfortable thing in the world but at least I was able to sit in a car and go get my nails and toes done. Still sleeping on my stomach though. A lot of the swelling in my abdomen has gone down and I am starting to see more of my abs. Looking slim fit with a nice round bubble butt. Wearing my faja most of the time no longer wearing the ab and back board as much.
WEEK 4:
I've been able to drive and do some work out stuff. I cant put too much pressure on my hips and buttocks though. I get this shooting pain down my thigh whenever I do. The top portion of my butt and hips are still very stiff. Also I started doing my own lymphatic massages at home with arnica salve/gel and a wahl personal massager I got from Walmart. No one in the area where I am recovering at knows how to do one properly. Only wearing my faja at night and waist trainer during the day.
