WORTH IT
I found Girin Plastic Surgery through my sister, who had done a lot of research on clinics in Korea. After visiting a few places myself, I chose Girin because they genuinely seemed to care about helping me reach my goals. The atmosphere felt calmer compared to other clinics that were hectic or crowded. The doctors didn’t seem rushed, which helped me feel more at ease and confident in their care.
I had double jaw surgery and facial contouring. After two years of braces, I realized orthodontics alone wouldn’t give me the facial balance I wanted. Surgery felt like the natural next step, and I’m glad I took it.
It was definitely nerve-wracking at first since this was my first major procedure. I didn’t fully grasp the reality of it until I was lying on the operating table. But Dr. Yoong Seung Gyu was incredibly reassuring, both to me and my mom. He listened to even my smallest concerns and acted on them right away, before and after the surgery. His attention to detail and care made a huge difference.
Post-op, I experienced minimal pain just some difficulty sleeping and minor nosebleeds. Daily life felt manageable, and I could still do most of my usual tasks. At around the two week point, I felt a tingling sensation in my chin, which I heard is a good sign that the nerves are healing.
Just before my original surgery date, I came down with a fever and cold symptoms. The team at Girin was so kind and understanding they offered me an IV to help me recover and quickly rescheduled my surgery without making me feel stressed. I also want to thank the amazing nurses who checked on me every hour during my hospital stay. Their warmth and attentiveness were unforgettable.
They also have very good translators, which helped a lot with communication. And I heard they're always open and available whether you’re thinking about visiting in person or asking questions online.

UPDATE!!!:)
It has been three months since my surgery, and I’m very happy with my progress. I have no pain at all, and I can chew most foods now, except for the restricted ones like hard candy or chewy items. The swelling has gone down significantly, and I’m especially relieved that the morning swelling has stopped.
Brushing my teeth is no longer difficult, and while I can still feel a small stitch inside my mouth, it hasn’t caused any complications. Since the swelling has reduced, I’m satisfied with how I look so far and I’m really excited to see the results at my six-month post-op mark.
I do still notice some swelling, particularly in my cheeks and double chin area, but it has improved a lot compared to before. Overall, I’m very pleased with the progress.
