This week was so much easier than last week. I still have a lot of swelling but after about Wednesday I left so much better and was not afraid to actually see people at work. The only two concerns I had this week were not being able to talk really well without my mouth doing this funny loopsided thing- it felt almost like I had just been to the dentist and my mouth was numb. The other concern is my earlobes- they look a little funny. Other than that I am feeling soo much better about my decision to have this work done.

Nice to see new photos and that you are feeling better:) I wouldn't worry about the earlobes right yet, swelling can make them contort a little, I seen some of that when I had lots of swelling. Your speech is getting better right? I never had problems with speech, I had face and neck lift and a chin implant, in the beginning I did feel a little difference with my bottom lip when speaking, no numbness though. I think this was only because my bottom lip truly is in a different position and it took me a little time to get used to it but I think I sounded fine. You are looking good, keep posting. I will post new photos around the 17th (1 month mark), I still have some swelling in front of my ears. I am getting more feeling back everyday, left side more then the right. I too am happy I did this.

Oh yes the speech is getting better every day. It is just now when I have to talk a lot (as a therapist- I sometimes have to do that) that I notice I just feel a little awkward. It wasn't because I was numb (I think more to do with swelling) but it just reminded me of the sensation of trying to talk after going to the dentist. I found it interesting when I went to the Dr. last week- I thought my right side was more swollen but both he and my husband thought my left side was more swollen.

I had a hard time, too. It was from the tightening of the jaw muscles. It was so tight early on I could not chew hard food because it always got caught between my inner cheeks and molars.

Yeah I have lost 6lbs so far. I guess it's a good way not to gain weight during the holidays... :)

It is a great lift, worth every penny spent!

Hi kvincent, I hope all is well! I am looking forward to your 1 month post update. :) As you know, I had a very rough recovery; I ended up falling into depression. It helps to keep in touch with folks, so I don't dwell on things. Have a wonderful holiday season!
Warmest regards,
murphus

Thank you I am doing good. Much better. I am glad to hear you are doing better- are you still having difficulties?
January 4, 2015
Hi kvincent, I'm so happy that you are doing well!! My herpetic eye infection cleared up completely with no scarring or visual deficits, which was the most important thing! I get the seasonal blues and the surgery made it worse. I still have 'bad' days where I feel like I'm in a funk, but it's getting better each day as I can increase my activity and we have more daylight. Still not able to work out as rigorously as before, but that will only be for another month. Happy New Year!!
Warmest regards,
murphus

I am so happy to hear that your infection has cleared without any permanent damage. I can understand what you are saying about the bad days. I was getting really down before i was cleared by the dr to go back to the gym. For me that is one of my biggest outlets for dealing with stress and the blahs. I am like you I ma not able to workout as hard but for me anything is better than nothing. Hang in there spring will be here before we know it. :)

Hi, hope all is well as you hit your month post op. Happy New year!

Thank you! I am doing much better. I am going to be posting new pics soon but my camera is acting all weird so I havent been able to take any the last few weeks. It is so nice to be able go back to the gym and do my normal routine with out a ton of discomfort. Happy New year to you as well!! How are you doing?

Pretty good, loving the improvement. I do think there will be a little touch up of my fight eyebrow and/or lid. I had a browlift and my Right brow is lower, enough so that my eyelid on that side is hooded, though nothing like before, but enough to make me worry about it. This was such a big job, I am surprised it all came out as good as it did.

Well today was one week out and I was not at all ready to be out in the world again. My Dr. told me to take 3 weeks off but my company would not let me and I was hoping being young and in good health I would heal fast and be okay. Ugh...
That being said I made it through but was so exhausted all day and all I wanted to do was hide in my office (for the most part I was able to do that). I still feel like my face is way to swollen and fat looking and when I talk my mouth droops on one side (hoping that is just the swelling).
I do like my profile so much better- I actually have a jaw and a neck... who knew. :)
I see the dr tomorrow and get stitches out yay... for now just resting as much as I can.

oh you poor thing going back to work, there is no way I could of. Must say your looking good and yes I agree still a little swollen but every day does get better x

That is terrible that you had to go back so early. I hope it gets better, guess you can't really hide the work you had done huh? Thankfully my husband and I are self employed and I have been able to do what I can and stay behind the scenes. I have told very few people that I had work done. My healing was faster then average but I still feel wiped out if I am out to long. I am 2 weeks out on Tuesday 12-2, all stitches are out, still have some swelling just in front of my ears. My neck is still stiff from the tightening of the muscles. I am not in a hurry to force the movement, figure it will come back slowly and I won't damage any of the work done. You look so much more improved from you last photos, and I do see a positive change already, even with the swelling. hang in there.

Thank you- yeah I am seeing improvents too and I love it. Lucky at work I have an office and I hid most of yesterday and I am trying to avoid meetings if I can. I told people I was having surgery but very few (and no one at work) knows what kind. I am just trying to take it a day at a time.

It's all healing really nicely though and is looking good. I do feel for you, having to go back to work … But on the other hand, maybe it's not bad to have to go out into the world. I had mine done more or less the same time as you -- and have pretty much the same degree of swelling plus a massive black eye, yellow and deep purple, nice -- so I'm hiding in my house. I think it will be a bigger deal for me when I do finally go out since there will have been this hiding period. That's what I mean -- you won't have that at least. I was reading the post by the 45 year old who posted an alien face around the 5/6 day mark and now looks amazing. Hang on in there x

December 2, 2014
Thank you- I had some pretty bad bruising the first few days but now the worst bruising is on my neck so I have to wear a scarf when ever I go out. How are you feeling other than the bruising?
December 3, 2014
I'm feeling pretty good on the whole -- the swelling is definitely going down and I'm starting to feel like my face will come out of there one day ... I have bruises on my neck, too, but they're going down. No hollow tear troughs any more (I lost a lot of weight really fast -- great for the butt but not the face). No horrible lines around my nose-mouth, well, actually there are lines but they're not saggy and hideous like they were. I'm waiting to see if they make me look natural or if I want to have fat put in them, which the surgeon wanted to do but I said no. I also said no to fat in my cheeks but am starting to wonder if he was right to say I should have this. I wanted to do it in stages tho, to see what the lift looked like before moving on to anything else. I just need to be patient, which I'm not. Am going out of the house for the first time tomorrow, shopping with my daughter so will see how that feels. Have people noticed your lift at work?

December 3, 2014
No I have managed to stay out of sight as much as possible- people have commented that I look sick but haven't made comments about me not feeling well but that is it. They might suspect but not saying anything.
