My intention in writing this is to inform others...
In January of 2015 my left breast implant collapsed. I called Dr. Clayman's office, whom Dr. L. Clayman originally perform my first breast augmentation 20 years ago. Dr. M. Clayman was very quick to respond and promptly seen me in his office the next day. His office staff scheduled me for surgery on Thursday of that same week, which was great. At this point I felt very comfortable with foregoing the procedure.
There was no Anesthesiologist present at any time during my procedure. The nurse "RN", surgical tech and Dr. M. Clayman were the only individuals present in the operating room during my augmentation. This is when I noticed something was not quite right nor were the strict guidelines for a surgical procedure being executed. I woke up during the operation three times. I felt them cutting, heard them talking and knew word for word what they were saying. I begged Dr. M. Clayman to please put me under that I could feel everything they were doing. He then instructed the nurse to give me more local. That was just the beginning of the pain that was to come. The operating room was not sterile; I wore my tennis shoes and pants during the entire procedure. Afterwards, in the "recovery" room, were other patients laying in "recliners" side-by-side. These recliners looked like recycled furniture from the flea market with rips and tears all about them.
I was in a LOT of pain in my left breast every day. The implants that were put in was recorder as 325cc but was without a doubt twice that size. Every day for 8 months I had wear two bra’s along with a sports bra just to support them enough to relieve a fraction of the pain because they were so heavy do to being OVERFILLED. I could not sleep on my back or on my right side. It felt as if every muscle and tissue within my chest was being ripped/ torn out. The implants were so hard and so over filled that it was impossible to squeeze them. The implant would simply move away when I did try to squeeze my breast and I would end up just squeezing skin. My nipples were also extremely sensitive.
Dr. Clayman said he had to perform an “internal lift”. I later found out after consulting another surgeon that there was no such thing as an internal lift. The other surgeon informed me that making the incision on the top of the nipple was not an accepted procedure for performing a breast augmentation. I have just undergone another breast augmentation by another surgeon to fix/correct my breast. I am only 4 days post op. from having my breasts corrected and the difference is night and day. I can’t even feel the implants that I now have and they are now very soft. The implants that Dr. Clayman reported as 325cc actually turned out to be 550cc saline in a 325cc bag. I now have 575cc silicone gel implants that are actually 575cc and look/feel natural.
I have read many blogs/reports about the Clayman’s since having my breasts corrected and see the same thing over and over; left breast painful, larger than what was wanted, implants overly filled etc… even the same identical word for word BS that Dr. Mark Clayman has told everyone.
