I have had 590cc implants for the last 10 years. I got them when I was young, because I was really into fitness and bodybuilding and didn't have anyone to tell me any better. I am 5'3" and used to weigh around 135lbs with pretty low body fat. I have not worked out consistently in 5 years and am now 120lbs with much less muscle. They look really big on my frame. I also have had 3 children since and nursed all of them, so my implants do not look the same as before. I want to get my implants removed so I can teach my children they are beautiful the way they are. I don't want to have to go through the hassle of repeat surgeries either. I have met with 4 different board certified plastic surgeons in my area. I have chosen Dr. Csikai. He answered all my questions, his work looks good, he has good reviews, his staff is professional and friendly, I didn't have to wait in the office a long time before getting in to be seen. I've had an overall good experience with them so far. Since my implants are so big I will have to get a lift as well. The plan is to pop the implants (this week!) and drain them. Then, wait a few months to let my skin retract as much as possible before the surgery. I am really excited to get these things out of me. It will be so nice to wear a regular bra and shirts again. I will keep you all updated on my journey as I go along. A big thanks to everyone else who has shared their story. I will add photos later tonight when my kids are in bed.

I meant I'm getting my saline implants deflated to let the skin retract, not popped. Oops :) this way it will be easier to mark for the breast lift and less skin to remove. I will update tomorrow.

I have large implants too so I'm very interested in seeing and hearing about your results. I have my consultation on Oct 4th and hopefully I won't have to wait too long to get them removed. The waiting is tge hardest part...good luck and keep us updated.

Feeling Down

So, I have wanted these things out for years now. I haven't been able to wear a lot of dresses, shirts, or even bras for so long. I found this website and did tons of research so I knew what to expect. I am not usually an over emotional person, but I am just feeling down.
I had my implants drained the 25th. Everything went fine and I was alright about it until last night. I guess I was expecting them to look bad, but at least I would be able to stuff them into a bra fine. They are 2 different sizes so that is difficult. I forgot to mention I am still nursing my last child. He is 15 months old and I should be done weaning him by the end of the week. I don't know if the size difference is because there is more tissue in my right breast or that it is milk. My son nurses off that side more frequently. Also, I have had pain on the right breast since it was deflated. At first I thought it was just sore, because of the needle. It hasn't gone away, though. It's a nagging pain during the day, but at night when I try to sleep it is very uncomfortable when I try and sleep on my sides. The empty bags poke out a lot. Maybe it's because the bags are so large? I don't know. All I know is I have to live at least 3 or 4 months like this, because I have to wait that long before surgery to make sure my milk is dried up. I'm also emotional about weaning my son for some reason. I thought I would be over the moon to even just have the size down. I think if there wasn't that pain and I didn't have to rush wean my son (so I can get the surgery sooner so the pain in gone) it wouldn't be so bad. It does feel good to wear a regular bra again, though and I am looking forward to having the surgery done. Right now, we have it scheduled for February. I am going to wean my son and see if we can move it to early January. My doctor said 3 months after weaning should be fine.

Try not to be discouraged. Your breasts are in a transitional stage and I am sure your surgeon can work wonders on balancing your breasts. And, your breasts take time to reshape after nursing. I commend you on your decision to teach your children to love their bodies. Nursing is the ultimate experience as a woman. Be proud of those breasts. Once you wean and start working out again, you will be glad they are out. Keep blogging. We care.
Ok, not knowing too much about implant removal, the "popping" part sounds kind of scary. I would love to hear what you know about what to expect, and to hear how it was after its over.
