Pros are the end result. A smaller lovely stomach.
Other than the normal discomfort of the healing process, there really are no cons as far as my experiance.
I had the surgery because due to pregnancy my stomach was stretched beyond the normal look, and no exercise could repair the problem. I wanted to be able to feel good about myself.
