The Boobs I Dreamed of Are Now a Reality!!!

I've wanted breast implants since I was 17 years old, once I finally had to accept that they were no longer going to grow anymore. It wasn't until almost two decades later and after my one and *planned to be* only child, my two year old daughter whom I did not breast feed, that I was able to afford breast augmentation surgery. I am 35 y/o, 5'5, and 130 lbs.
The first and only board certified plastic surgeon I saw was Dr. Kirk in July 2018, and I knew by the end of my consultation that I wanted her to do my surgery. I am very detail-oriented, ask tons of questions, and have conducted thorough research, so I came prepared. Posh, Dr. Kirk's office is located in Jacksonville, FL, and first, I must mention how welcoming and informative her staff is, particularly Kristy, front desk coordinator. I had already begun getting good vibes just from booking my consult over the phone with Kristy. At my consultation, I was presented with a doctor who while young (presumably my age, 35, or maybe 5 years older max) is very professional and has a bedside manner that should put anyone at ease. Dr. Kirk is relatable, but she has the education and enough years of practicing PS (including 10 years of running her own practice) to reassure a potential patient that she has all the goods plus more. Dr. Kirk did not once flinch during my barrage of questions during the consult that lasted approximately 2 hours, and she answered everything truthfully based on MY body and MY goals/expectations. I ended up booking my surgery for October 8, 2018 so that my husband could afford to use slow time at work to take off one week to play nurse!
I am now two weeks post-op and am doing very well!! During my first week after surgery, I was obsessing because my right boob began to drop more visibly to me than my left and therefore, my right nipple is a bit lower than my left. After reviewing my pre-op photos and then reviewing some more, I'm not completely at ease and extremely excited for 3-4 month results to finally appear! I was a 34A before surgery and my right breast had more breast tissue than the left, and Dr. Kirk also confirmed that she discovered during surgery that my left breast is a tad more narrow than the right, which explains why left is still higher. I ultimately decided on 375 CCs, HP Mentor smooth round silicone, under the muscle.
I will not lie - at this point I am experiencing what many women in their early healing stages of augmentation refer to as "boob envy" and go back and forth wishing I had gone for 400 CCs. However, after measuring my BWD (left side measuring shorter in diameter), Dr. Kirk told me that 400s would be a very tight squeeze and I was concerned that because of that, I could develop stretch marks. Ultimately, I am EXTREMELY happy with my results and have no regrets. Best of all, my results aren't even final, and just from looking at my progression photos, I can see I'm already dropping significantly AND the boobies ARE looking bigger just 2 weeks post-op!
Please comment, share your story if you have similar stats as me and already have/are considering implants, or simply just want to lend your advice! I'm still wearing my hook & eye closure sports bra 24/7 and am massaging 3x per day.

Congratulations on such a positive BA experience! They look fabulous! I’m going in for my surgery 1/6. Getting mentor HP smooth round unders. My concern at this point is whether or not HP is best for my goals. I have very little breast tissue and skin to work with, and fear that HP will just appear way too high and perky.

Thank you! Just a tip: If you go back and look at my before photo, you'll see I also had very little breast tissue and my BWD was only 10 something I believe. My surgeon explained that HP is actually best for women who really don't have a lot of skin to work with, which is why I decided on HP. They all look high in the beginning, but the great thing about HP is that the side projection is AMAZING! You will find what is right for you and remember, try not to scrutinize the details UNTIL you hit six weeks. Any changes/lack of change before that will only cause you unnecessary anxiety. Good luck!

Congrats!! Just starting to read your review now. I am scheduled one month from now and am so excited!! My fear is size. I keep going back and forth between super natural, and a little bigger.

Would you look at that? Today is 15 days post-op and this is a size small bralette (padding removed) that I tried on at Hollister. I'm loving my cleavage already. No boobage was squeezed together; this is just me bent over for the photo, lol! Ended up purchasing this bralette in a medium in both black & burgundy.

If you're looking for a bralette that has semi-shoulder sleeves, go to Hollister! The ones I purchased today are adorable.

So, here are some pics for almost 3 weeks of healing. Beginning to drop and soften! Still massaging 3x/day and still wearing my hook & eye closure bras 24/7, although I did wear one of those new bralettes from Hollister yesterday (I couldn't resist!). When I squeeze my boobs, they feel very real!! The only place I can still actually "feel" the implant is in my left breast of course (narrower side, sat higher preoperatively), but I only feel the edge of my implant on the inside of that breast, close to my sternum, so this is great news!

I can't wait to finally be able to go braless around the house. You fully gain appreciation of not having to wear a bra when you unhook a sports bra that you've worn all night & day before jumping in the shower!

I still haven't bothered to get my bra size measured yet because I know my results will be different at the 6 week mark, but I'm hoping I'll settle into a 34 D - DD. Right now, I'd guess I'm a full 34 C. Anyone who's following, what do you all think?
