Flat tummy. I'm 21 days pre-op and my emotions are running the gamut. Did many of u feel this way? I was blessed with a flat tummy and very nice waist line. However over the years I was not able to maintain the shape that i was blessed with. This has not been a haphazard decision and I have done extensive research regarding the procedure and the PS that I've selected. Any experience with Dean Glassman? He appears to be very knowledgeable and well respected in his chosen field.

It is totally normal. I had highs and lows leading up to surgery. You can get through it. It will be so worth it in the end!

Hi Dolphin2010, My surgery was a 2½ wks ago. I have been emotionally all over from "Oh I love you, you are the bestest thing ever" to "I wish never did this! I would be more useful to this family in a freaking wheelchair" to "I'm sorry honey, you are so supportive and loving and you didn't deserve to listen to me cry for half an hour" to "You don't do a damn thing! You don't care how much pain I'm in" to "This is the most glorious day. I wish I could go walk for 2 miles". My surgeon said this is expected. I hope you feel well physically! Take care.

I feel like the tight, fit beautiful woman I have been working to look like for years. I feel younger. I'm so grateful for my new tummy and can't wait to see six months from now how I look after getting my gym routine going. I have some pain still and get tired easily. I'm working full time now and cooking all the meals, driving myself around. Turning back into mom and wifey.

If you read my preop rant before surgery, you will see everything I was thinking the day before surgery. I noticed you are preop. :)

I feel as good as I can in the healing stages. I just posted pics of my scar a second ago. Two weeks are going to fly for you! Don't wait until the last few days to do the cleaning! Good luck!

Oh I've already started! Have u gone back to work? How long were u out?

I started work on day 10. I should have taken a full 2 weeks off. It was really hard to sit for so long. I work from home and was still on valium and Percocet when I started working. I was really slow and took too long to do things. I have written about each experience on my profile page. I'm almost feeling like myself now. Laundry still whoops my but because of bending. Grocery shopping pushing a cart is a hard workout and causes muscle spasms. The mood swings have let up though. I cook for the family and am snugglable again.

Thanks for responding Matea. I will off exactly 15 days (including weekends). I really don't want to take the pain meds greater than 5 days as I know that they can really screw up your bowel habits. How long did u wear ur binder?

I take Miralax every day so pain meds never plugged me up. I've worn a binder for almost 4 weeks. I am supposed to wear it for 2 more. I wear a waist cincher in public but I usually have more pain later on if I don't wear a real binder. My binder is getting too big. I still take Motrin and muscle relaxers, 1 Percocet at night if I need it (around 5:30 after working). I need melatonin to sleep at night. I wake up a lot to pee, 2 or 3 times per night. Compression on your bladder doesn't help in that way. The main pain I get is upper abs from muscle repair. I take metaxalone for the muscle relaxer and this and the Motrin kill my tummy if I don't eat with them. No bowel issues at all though. If it was you that was asking about vitamin C, I was advised by my PS to take 500 mg twice daily two weeks prior to surgery and continuing after surgery.

Thanks for responding Matea. I had mypre-op clearance on today. I didnt ask about the vitamin C but I am interested in why ur doctor advised u 2 take it. I am only 10 days away from the big day!

He says it prepares your body's immune response to the trauma that is about to occur and speeds healing time after. Wow! You must be so nervous and excited! I remember that!
