Hey all!! I've been lurking on the boards and reading everyone's experiences and looking at photos and decided I should probably finally just pull the trigger and share my own story! I'm 24, 155 pounds, size 6 jeans, and a 34DDDD. I am a mother of one. Prior to having my son, I was 18 years old, weighed 120 lbs, and was a 34B. 3 days after my son was born, my breasts basically ballooned almost instantly (within 2 days) from a 34B to a 34DDDD. I was shocked! Everyone I talked to about he sudden size increase said they would deflate again once I stopped breastfeeding. Well, here we are 6 years later and they're still 100% here! ????. Anyways. Over the last 6 years my weight has yo-yo'd significantly, weighing 210 at my most one year ago. After some pretty serious changes in my personal life, I decided it was time to lose the weight and begin the process of loving myself and my body again! Now? I have lost 50 pounds, and 4 pants sizes and the boobs are still here. I attempted to get breast reduction approved through my insurance (UHC) two years ago and was told to lose weight, and that I didn't have enough documentation of physical problems caused by the size of my breasts. I gave up! I felt that it was never going to happen and I was going to have to live with these for the rest of my life. Thankfully, I changed insurance companies since then, and decided the pain was just too much to bear any longer and tried again! This time, I was approved in 6 weeks and now have my surgery scheduled for February 21st!! I am ecstatic, and so incredibly impatient! My pain continues to increase with each day, but now I have an end in sight. There's a light!! My hopeful size is a 34C. I haven't had my pre-op yet, that's in 4 weeks!
Here is a run down of my issues and coping mechanisms:
- Lumber and thoracic back pain
- Neck pain and stiffness
- Upper chest muscular pain
- side of breast pain
-constant tenderness and bruising to ribcage where underwire sits
- beginning to have grooves in shoulders
- rashes and bruising to in between and underneath breasts
- pain during any sort of exercise or high impact movements (going down stairs, running, jumping).
For the last two years I have been getting regular and frequent massages to help with pain. About one year ago I added chiropractic care, which has helped but my spine is not longer responding to corrections for longer than 2 days due to the excess weight on my chest. For now, both chiropractic care and massages are just used to keep me comfortable. I also am taking Tylenol daily to help alleviate pain in order to function daily.
Questions for my readers who've had the surgery:
Anyone with young-is kids? (The three in my house, including my boyfriend's, are 6, 6 and 4). How quickly were you able to be up doing chores around the house, and how soon were you comfortable driving? I know I can't lift anything heavy, and I have plans in place for assistance around the house.
Anyone with a physical job? I'm a paramedic, and plan on returning to work at 4.5 weeks, granted all goes well. Should I wait longer??
Ok, thanks for reading! I will update soon!

14 days pre
Pre Op!!
tinydancer404February 6, 2017
So I had my pre op appt today, and it went well!! Just a lot of paperwork signing. Thankfully, most of my questions were answered by ladies on here! Doc showed me my pre-op photos (holy moly!! These things are huge!). We settled on a size (most likely a C, but of course no guarantees), and my PS informed me he would be giving me Vicodin for post op pain management. So we are all set and ready to go in two weeks, ahhhh!! It has come up so fast. I've been dealing with a lot of anxiety over the surgery. Normal right? Just so worried that things are going to go wrong, or I will hate my post op boobs, or they won't heal right or fast enough... what were some ways you guys calmed nerves and worries before surgery?! I could definitely use some reassurance.. I'd also love suggestions for things you forgot, things you wish you'd known, or things that you loved and that helped!!

Hi, I am 2.5 weeks post op. Was a 34 DDD, was looking to be closer to a C. I am not going to lie to you, nor do I want to scare you, just will give you my experience. Remember, everyone is different. The day of surgery is not a huge deal. They mark you for your projected surgery, tell you what they are going to do and put you to sleep. You wake up hours later and its done. The day I came from surgery I was feeling really good. Took a vicoden, but it did not sit well with me, so I stopped taking them after two days. Kept me up all night and upset me stomach. I stuck with Tylonel. I had a very rough first ten days pain wise, nothing unbearable, but very uncomfortable. I wish i had been prepared for that, because I honestly thought after three days I would feel better. Do not be scared if it takes your body weeks or even months to adjust and feel better. It is major surgery..remember that. I am just starting now to feel okay. I still am very uncomfortable and sometimes I get sharp pains in my chest and I still so tired, but I am confident in time I will feel better. Have patience and give yourself time to heal. Get a good bra for your new GIRLS that is supportive and comfortable. Your boobs will be swollen for weeks even months after, but they will fall into place..the Boobs you see post surgery are not your final BOOBS!! lol...Ice packs helped when the pain was really bad.....I wish you all the luck!!! YOU GOT THIS!!!! PS Very happy I did it..;-)

Thank you for sharing!! I had my surgery this past Tuesday, and it went well with no complications (read my following updated to see!). I was in a lot of pain the first two days, and definitely over did it Thursday (had four kids with just my mom to help, but am kid free the next 5 days due to custody schedules). I keep trying to remind myself that they will settle and be different, especially since they are extremely swollen today! Good luck with your recovery! I'd love to keep in touch!
