Rhinoplasty - Bad Result
UPDATED FROM RSMember2275
Insurance procedure closed
$4,000
After 1 year and an half this nightmare is coming to an end!
The insurer has admitted the damage and I will receive a compensation in few days.
Meanwhile, last month I met a new surgeon. I was very impressed by him, my visit last more than 2 hour and we evaluated every aspect of the procedure. It will be a long operation (about 6 hours) but I hope this time everything gonna be alright.

Insurance procedure opening
The hospital has opened the insurance procedure...this is a good news because it is like an admission that something went wrong. Now I have to wait to be visited by forensic insurance doctor to evaluate damages.I hope that everything will be alright...

I'm so sorry you have had this experience, we all fear it in the initial stages of our healing and hope any poor result is just swelling so I really feel for you. Will you be having a revision?

Bad result confirmed
Just few days ago I received an answer from the President of Italian Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He has confirmed that I have:
1) Inverted V deformity
2) Asymmetrical bridge
3) Pollybeak deformity
4) Bad positioned columella and caudal septum deflected
I have also discovered the the surgeon used absorbable sutures to reduce the tip and now the it is returning to the pre-op situation...at this point maybe it is a good news...because the result is a mess and more the nose is similar to the old one and the better will be!
I have also started legal action because here in Italy the judges orientation about these kind of cases is changing (in support of patients).
Finger crossed!

hi sweetie, im sorry to hear about your experience. I would really really recommend being super careful about who does your revision. You don't want to get on the revision train and have to get multiple surgeries. There is a forum called UK Look Your Best Rhinoplasty Forum where actual patients discuss their revision surgeries and can make recommendations. Please choose someone based off of talking to REAL patients and not just looking up anonymous reviews and reading articles/testimonials. Talk to these patients on the phone, meet with them in person, exchange photos--do your best research for your next surgeon. Make sure the surgeon has done thousands of revisions, and ask him to show you afters of noses similar to yours.

greetings pdflames!
thank you for your nice thoughts and info. i will definately check out that site. have been busy.
have you had work gone wrong yourself? what has been your exoerience?
yes, it is so true that you have to be super careful. anything can happen with surgery, and when it comes to the feature in the middle of our faces, well, there is no escaping it.
my surgeon WAS a reconstructive specialist.
so now........
well, take care and thank you for your time and good thoughts.
heartbreak kid.
