It takes longer for us who have thick skin to see refinement. Nonetheless yours looks beautiful already! Congrats.

Thank you so much, you are right! I'm being patient and I can tell its getting slightly different with time.xx

Beautiful, you can really the swelling start to subside at the 6 month mark. Hang in there, it can take a year or more for the final results to show. For myself, it was definitely a full year and one day I just looked and saw how refined and small my nose looked -- the key is patience.

I'm so happy for you! Congratulations on your great results and hopefully one day I'll be also surprised with my results. For now, its only a subtle change and I'm really hoping my tip will get better.

hello my i had surgery 2 months nose and nose looks similar after surgery I still experience uneven swelling and the tip is large in comparison with the nose bridge, do you think it will go down?
February 8, 2017
Who did you have the surgery with? The swelling will definitely go down, if you had an open rhinoplasty 2 months is very short time.

Dr.Feldmar
Yes it was open surgery , I really do hope the swelling goes down . My nose looks extremely funny sides ways like I mentioned the bridge seems to be ok but the tip looks huge. How long did it take for yours to go down?

I decided to write this review to help others...

I decided to write this review to help others going through the same experience. Like everyone here I was unpleased with the shape of my natural nose for as far as I can remember, but it took me long to decide to go ahead with this procedure and it was my 25th birthday gift to myself. After some extensive research and considering all the madness happening in the region where I live (The middle east) I chose Dr. Emre ilhan From Turkey to be my surgeon. I was not sure how satisfied I will be with my results but I was almost certain no functional damage will occur to my nose in his hands, which was my biggest nightmare.
My operation took place on the 9th of February at the Memorial Hospital in Istanbul. The hotel is extremely clean just like a 5 stars hotel and hospital staff were extremely friendly. The doctor was also comforting ,only thing is that we agreed on what need to be changed, but he never explained what is surgically going to happen or how is he going to achieve those results. (My advise: ASK YOUR DOCTOR WHAT EXACTLY IS HE PLANNING TO DO IN THE OP ROOM)
Next thing I woke up and it is done, I had a rough week but nothing you can't tolerate if you really want this bad. Luckily, I did not bruise at all! thanks to doctor's technique and light hand I only experienced some serious swelling, bad skin and I could not smile/laugh properly for a decent month or two - all normal.
Today, I am 6 months post op and I am healing fine, It is not exactly the perfect result or the nose of my dreams, however, I do not regret going under the knife for the nose I have now. I still experience uneven swelling and the tip is large in comparison with the nose bridge, however patience is keys and I shall give it some time to see the final results.
Pictures will follow.

Thanks for paying it forward by sharing your journey here on RealSelf. I am looking forward to seeing your photos. Have people noticed the difference in your appearance? How have they reacted?

Hey Eva,
Family members and close friends did certainly notice there was something differen. co-workers and most people though could not tell and everybody I know mentioned that I look the same. It was a relief to know I don't look worse at least :) I been feeling really down for the first month and then I just got used to how it looks and starting monitoring cahnges, I feel like overall I have a slow recovery comparing to others who have done it.

Did you travel twice, once for the consultation and, at a later stage, for the surgery?
January 28, 2017
Would you recommend this surgeon for a revision rhinoplasty? I unfortunately need a tertiary. I was asked by Dr Ilhan 6000 euros for the revision rhinoplasty. I believe prices change according to the patients' country......

You look great! Did you go back jet? I want to go there, but don't dare to go alone. If you go there by yourself, tell me and i'll join you ;) x Ann
June 23, 2017
Sorry last question ;) First of all, great improvement! second, did he use open or closed technique? Did you request him closed technique and what was his response?
June 24, 2017
Dear Ann, you surely can ask as many questions as you want.
He used open technique and my understanding is that dr Emre only performs open surgeries as thats his preference, i personally did not mind and I only cared for the results.
June 25, 2017
Thanks for your reply! Your right, only care for the result. I am just a little nervous about the potential visible scar with open rhino. Not sure jet what I will decide, but I think I will go to Emre as well :)
