Just had my first hair cut few days ago. Got advised to use sissors only where the hair has been transplanted. No trimmers at the moment. Still no major difference to my development, Dr Cinik has advised that at the end of January I will see significant growth.

I have a question about the way he goes about doing the procedure if you don't mind. Did he extract the grafts first and then open the channels? Or was it the other way around?

First they numb the area where they will be extracting the donor hairs. That took around 1 hour for me. Then they follow it on by numbing the area where they will be transplanting the hairs. It's a delicate procedure so they make sure it's done properly so rushing them wont be a good idea. Just sit back and enjoy the ride. Once they numbing is done by a local anaesthetic, then next stage is when they take out the donor hairs. Depending on how much work needs doing to the transplant area that's how many hairs will need to be taken out. I got told to download a movie onto my phone or take a magazine to keep me occupied but it's pointless as they keep asking you to adjust the head slightly every now and then so I just sat back and closed my eyes. No discomfort, no nothing throughout the whole procedure.

I hope his helps.

Thank you so much! It does. The reason I asked was because I'm considering this doctor myself and I saw someone say he opens the channels first which I know is wrong.

I see. Well as far as I can remember, the took out the donor hairs first before they did anything else. It was step by step process. Numb area, take hairs out, transplant hairs in.

Still waiting for the new roots to start growing. I have been in touch with Dr Cinik and he keeps reassuring me that my hair will start growing after 3 months. It's all a waiting game now.
