Hi again
I've been away from here for quite a while but I am now exactly 1 year since the 2nd session to fill the crown area and add a little more to the top .
Happy enough lads and the crown has filled in a bit. I don't know if it has more to give over the coming months but if not I'm happy enough.
I'm going to make this my last update until maybe another year to see how things hold out. Tks to everyone in the Realself community over the last 2 years and all the help and information I've received on here. A massive thank you to all at Maralklinik Istanbul.
The pictures I've posted are just after a haircut. #2 at the sides and fade out and #2 at the back ,brought high. A small amount of brylcreem has been applied also. These pictures were taken in high resolution so you can zoom in and get a clear idea of this final result.Really happy with my donor area and how it looks after 2 sessions and cut tight.
Best wishes DerekLucan

6 months post 2nd op
Hi
Just a quick update and some pics for 6 months 2nd session for crown. I'm happy enough and things are moving along.I was holding off looking at my crown but I've just looked at the pictures the wife took and I think it has definitely improved there. I've put some pictures up which are clean hair and no products. I'm feeling stubble at scalp level every week or so. Lads some of the new hair is quite wirey like body hair but I'm hoping with time and a healthy diet this will improve. No more spots have appeared over the last 2 months which is great. Tks for looking hope this post is of help. D

The crown looks great, and you may still have 40% more growth. Congrats!

Tks James
How's things with you.? You must be well underway now at 6.5 months. I'm happy enough now if I get more growth that would be great but I'm finding myself wondering about the long game and what will be there in 2 years or more. Not shedding or anything but some of the hair is still wirey looking without styling products. Best wishes D

Nice improvement already Derek !

Looks like you're seeing real improvements at 6mths, Derek.
I think your latest pics show you lost a bit of weight too, which combined with the hair must make you look a lot younger than before Op #2 and #1!

Are you finding this second time is easier, Derek? It's amazing how things start to happen from this time, 4-6mths post.

Hi Aussie
Yeah I guess the 2nd visit was easier because I knew what to expect. I got less grafts 2nd session so had less healing to do especially near the front of the head. Plus after 2nd session the hair you got from the 1st session grows back straight away and covers any redness. If you need a 2nd I'd recommend but wait until at least a year and see what the 1st gives you. But yes round 2 was easier glad I went. Happy growing man. D

4 months post 2nd op
Hi
Just a quick update. At 4 months post 2nd op now .All is good and the new grafts are starting to push through. Getting stubble at scalp level every week or so. Had a few spots for a few weeks at 3 months but they seem to have passed now. All part of the process but they can be sore.I'd say it will be another few months before the crown picks up as they say crown takes longest to come through.I was a little unsure about getting the 2nd op purely because I didn't want to go back to the scabs and healing stage. Glad to be at 4 months now and I found the 2nd op easier. Hair from1st session quickly covered the redness and I was back to normal after about 7 weeks.I've attached a few pics and 1 pic of pre 1st op to show progress. Cheers D

Looks excellent for only 4 months from 2nd op. Nice to know that the work from the 1st one covers up the redness fairly quickly. The hairline and mid scalp look great already. Can't wait to see how dense the top will look in another 4 months. The crown should catch up nicely as well. Thanks for the update.

Just FYI, I've been in touch with someone who is currently in Istanbul. He flew into Istanbul Saturday/Sunday, just one week after the coup attempt. Said everything was completely normal and calm. He had the procedure done at MaralKlinic. Look for a review soon.

That's nice to know. I was planning on having a procedure done at the same clinic but had concerns about all of the political chaos. I don't want to spend a lot of time in the airport, so, I've decided to just take a tightly packed carry-on due to the recent airport suicide-bombing.

Just had my 2nd session at Maral's and can't wait to see the results.
Do you wanna share the advices you got from Durden on cutting /styling your hair with hair wax? Or can I find them on this review?
Congrats on your 2nd session.
I'm done now and happy I returned to help the crown area a bit .
I think I've settled on keeping it short at the back and sides with a bit more on top. To be honest mine gets a bit hard to manage if I let it grow out. If you keep it reasonably short you also only need a small amount of product to style it. I try to avoid hair wax as it clumps the hairs together . I generally use a small amount of brylcreem gel cream. It helps it not look as dry. My transplanted hair can tend to be a bit dryer than native hair I've found. I'm trying to work on this by taking biotin supplements the last few months. I havent noticed any real difference yet either. I'll just keep up the usual routine of baby shampoo and any quality conditioner. Cheers Derek
Glad to help. Good luck with you HT you'll be in good hands . D
I'll check your posts well done buddy. Tks for your help on here over the last year. D
Believe it or not but you updated your last pics as I was reading your review (for the umpteenth time!) for more tips/hints. I'm today exactly 4 weeks post HT (spooky coincidence) from Maral Klinik (all thanks to you) and will post my updates later today as well on Realself.
Will miss you loads...you helped us get off our sofas and do something wonderful.
God speed....Mas
I will be watching your thread ,keep up the good work and enjoy the rest of the year. You will be amazed when it start coming through from 3-4 months in .
Best D
