Thirty-one Weeks Post Surgery
WORTH IT$2,800
Here are a few more photos. My hair has grown in well, and I have no complaints about the experience. I included one photo with wet hair so you can better see the pattern of hairs. All in all, the money and effort of having this procedure was well worth it.

24 Weeks Post Surgery
It's been almost six months, and I wanted to post a short update. Let me start by saying that all in all, I'm very pleased with the results. My new hairline looks natural, and the hair is coming in nicely. I'm posting a couple of photos for others to judge for themselves. I have absolutely no regrets about having Dr. Arslan do the surgery, and the results have been everything I expected. The hair is still a little thinner than the hair at the back of my head, but I expect it to thicken a bit more over the next six months.

Twelve Weeks Update
It's been right at 12 weeks since the procedure. So far, everything seems to be going well. The donor area looks completely normal, and it doesn't feel thin in any way. The front of the scalp has started growing new hairs as you can see in the photo. I expect quite a bit of additional growth, but we'll see when it all comes in. I have no complaints at this point. Everything has gone as expected. Will post more photos later.

Would you recommend Dr Arslan? Did he do everything or did the assistants? What other doctors were you considering?

I considered about eight doctors, Cinik, Erdogan, and others that you find here on RealSelf. Most fell into two categories, those who were quite expensive and do some of the work themselves, and those that are cheaper and have assistants do nearly all the work. I selected Dr. Arslan because he does only one patient a day -- that is, you have his full attention. He was a little more expensive than some, but not nearly the cost of the really well known doctors. I would say that he did about 60% of the work himself (all of the channel cutting, implanting the hairline, and some of the harvesting. What was equally important was that he was present for the entire procedure. At first, I thought that I'd want a doctor to do the entire procedure, but now I'm not so sure. The reason is that it's very tiring, and a single individual would have difficulty maintaining focus for 6-8 hours. I think Dr. Arslan has a good balance of doing the critical work, while passing off some of the implantation to his assistants so as not to grow too tired. Also, I liked that he kept a close eye on what they were doing, often pointing out areas where they needed to focus. Overall, I would definitely recommend Dr. Arslan. I felt that he genuinely cared for my well being, and there were no surprises either before, during, or after the procedure.

Thank you for your response. I’m still doing research and he’s in the running since he does 1 a day and is there the entire time.
