BEWARE OF MCAN'S REVIEW PROCEDURE:
At MCAN in Istanbul I was asked to write an online review on their computer conveniently opened at the review site, while still at the MCAN clinic and with a staff member waiting for me to finish writing - even without having seen the result of the treatment... (Imagine the pressure for some!). THIS review, however, is written after seeing the actual results of the surgical treatments, as I declined to write the review, while still at the MCAN clinic. I find that review procedure by MCAN quite unethical.
Twice I have been at MCAN in Istanbul:
1st time in August 2016 to have a hair transplantation and a mini facelift, which included many promises.
2nd time in March 2017 to have the surgical mistakes and broken promises corrected. This time new broken promises were added.
What is common for both visits are the continuous broken promises, surgical mistakes and amateurism. The lack of respect that I’ve experienced from MCAN’s work is upsetting.
MCAN PROMISES before i paid:

Reality is quite another story.
FROM THE BEGINNING:
AUGUST 2016:
From pictures MCAN recommended normal facelift. But upon face-to-face-consultation in Istanbul the day before surgery, the doctor Cahit Vural and staff recommended mini facelift. We also agreed acne scars to be removed.
1. However, no acne laser treatment was performed.
2. Facelift has had no effect on upper face and almost no effect on lower face.
3. But a lot of side effects.
Troya Hotel Taksim, where I stayed is a 3-star hotel - yet, not “4 or 5 star hotels” as promised by MCAN. Unstable internet. Nice staff and area, though.
MCAN protested when I asked to pay around 3500 euros by credit card. They wanted the whole amount in cash. We then agreed to pay 50/50 cash/credit card, which turned out to be quite complicated. I had to withdraw several times from the ATMs in Istanbul due to the daily limit - instead of just one time at the clinic using their machine. Why not accept the whole amount on credit card, so patients don't have to carry such big amounts in cash? And at the same time eliminate any tax avoidance suspicion?
1-2 months after the operation I tried to get a response from MCAN regarding my concerns - in vain. However, before I paid for the surgery MCAN was very responsive. They answered all my emails within hours and assured me that I would be "very happy with the result" etc. After I paid - my concerns were ignored.
DECEMBER 2016:
I - nor the ones close to me - have noticed any significant difference after the mini facelift - apart from the visible scars and the fact that my sideburns has moved into my - now disfigured - ears. Naturally men have 10-20 millimeters bare skin between ear and sideburn. I now have 0 millimeters, and I need to shave them tightly and use make-up not to reveal the surgery scars and hair spots. I am disappointed that I wasn't informed about this unnatural side effect and offered hair transplant of part of the sideburns or other surgery alternatives.
The incision of the surgery was made below the level of the eyes, hence not lifting the area around the eyes, even though I asked for a lift of the upper face.
Disfigurement: After the surgery my ears look different: One ear has an earlobe, the other one hasn’t.
After the first version of this Trustpilot review was posted in December 2016, MCAN HEALTH suddenly became attentive and after much email discussion promised to correct the sideburns, but MCAN has refused to correct the facelift of upper face, even though the incision was made BELOW the level of the eyes - hence not lifting the upper face and even though I, back in August 2016, specifically mentioned and illustrated that the facelift should include upper face with the saggy eyelids.
NOTE: When MCAN make mistakes and break their promises and corrective treatment is needed, travel and accommodation expenses back to Istanbul will be at the patient’s concern.
MARCH 2017:
Correcting mistakes and broken promises…
MCAN only agreed to correct faulty sideburns and perform facial laser treatment. They refused to correct the saggy eyelids.
At the consultation at the MCAN office in Istanbul the doctor showed me several pictures of VISIBLE facelift scars, which he considers not visible(!). If that is his opinion, then I strongly recommend that MCAN posts these images of VISIBLE scars on their website, so that potential clients know what MCAN really means when promising “no visible scars”.
Hair transplantation became laser treatment:
Moreover, I was promised hair transplantation to correct the faulty sideburns, which MCAN caused in August 2016. However, at the clinic in Istanbul the doctors told me that the sideburn hairs generally are too weak for transplantation and therefore wanted to remove the sideburn hair using fractional laser (something that I was not informed about prior to this extra visit). And then the hair transplant doctor instead transplanted hair from the back of my neck to put in front of the sideburns in order to make them look natural again.
After this fractional laser treatment it turned out that around EVERY single hair follicles survived, so no difference from before my extra visit to Istanbul.
After “corrective” treatments:
Having had extra travel/hotel expenses etc. and 4 lost work days for the extra visit to Istanbul, as requested by MCAN, it is now clear that also the corrective treatment has been a mistake, since the fractional laser treatment did not result in removing the faulty sideburn hair, so now I have extra wide, faulty sideburns into my ears.
This amateurism that I’ve experienced at MCAN is appalling.
MCAN wanted me to return to Istanbul and have more “free” 10-minutes laser treatments, but as I don't live around the corner from MCAN, these "free" treatments end up costing a lot of money for expenses to flights, hotels, living and lost work days. All those expenses are added to the original amount, which keeps rising due to MCAN’s broken promises.
For me, a facial surgery like this has required a great deal of trust. A trust which repeatedly has been broken by MCAN.
Also the hair transplantation to the crown area has shown minimal results after 12 months now and MCAN assured me that after 15 months it will look right… But will this also turn into yet another broken promise on the list of broken promises by MCAN?
(UPDATE Januar 2018: Yes, no improvement to crown area, so surprisingly this was just yet another broken promise from MCAN.)
If you by any chance should choose MCAN to manage your cosmetic needs, I highly recommend that you will be EXTREMELY specific regarding your needs, do thorough research on surgical procedures, and that you get EVERY DETAIL in writing and preferably have a lawyer look through everything. It is your body. Be careful or you will end up like me with a disappointing result, extra expenses and a lot of time and energy wasted.
I only want what I already paid for and for MCAN's promises to be fulfilled - this has turned out to be difficult.
If only MCAN’s work was at the same level as their face-to-face friendliness, the results might not have been disappointing.
I paid MCAN a lot of money to perform:
1. Hair transplant to cover crown area.
2. Lift of whole face without scars.
I got neither. In reality, I have paid MCAN to disfigure my face.
