Dr Ishan Basaran, Bad Breast Lift and BBL Results and Complications
had breast implants done with Dr Ishan Basaran 28/06/2018 via clinic centre. I was also meant to have a lift done but the dr didn't do. Initially he said he did an internal lift. Then after 4 months it became very apparent that no lift had been done...he stated that actuslly he didnt do one as he didn't think I needed it...even though I paid for it.
After a few months my breasts started to drop alot and I was very unhappy with the results. I decided to go back and have revision surgery and a BBL. Although I must admit I was a little unsure as my scars were really bad jaggard and Dr said he refused to do the operation if I went through clinic centre. He said I should lie to clinic centre and go directly through him. This should have sent off alarm bells, however I was desperately in need of a lift and didnt want to pay again and wanted a BBL and didn't want to have 2 operations... this was a HUGE mistake on my behalf. I found out later through clinic centre that it was not a revision at all... that the Dr hadn't done any internal lift in the 1st procedure, nor haf he not done one because he didnt think i needed it. In fact he had entirely forgotten to do it! He then lied to myself and clinic centre saying he did an internal lift. Later he said he didn't do 1 because he didn't think I needed it. Very confusing
I went to Turkey and had my bbl and breast lift on 2/10/2018. I was told it was a straight forward procedure and it would take no longer than 4hrs, that I would be able to fly on a 15hr flight after just a few days and I would be able to return to work in 7 days. This was not the case. Im almost 4 weeks post op and i still can barely sit down. I was only able to fly with medical assitance and a row of seats cleared for me so I could lie on my side.
My operation was 7 hrs long, I was out for 9hrs. I woke up in shock...I felt like I had been in a car accident. My breasts felt alot smaller and I was covered in bruises and shaking uncontrollably. I vomited blood. I was very confused and didn't understand what was happening to me. No-one spoke English and I was very upset and screaming. The nurses gave me something to calm me but I couldn't sleep all night, I was so uncomfortable and in so much pain. They told me the dr would come in the morning.
The next day very late after 11am my Dr arrived and very quickly and without any gentleness looked me over and said I was fine. My breasts bandages were covered in blood and I was very swollen.
The next day, very weak the dr ordered me out of bed and once again man handling me he took off my bandages. To my horror my breasts looked terrible. One nipple was very different to the other and they very oval not circular. I also had 1 hip bigger than the other. The Dr chalked it up to swelling, quickly wrote me a fit to fly letter and discharged me even though I felt very sore and weak and had no-one to help me. (He was meant to organise me a host but I never saw one, and because he refused to do the operations if I went through clinic centre I had noone)
I spent 4 days in bed... crying on and off all day. My body looked terrible and the dr was constantly too busy to talk to me. I reached out to other surgeons who said my breasts lift results were not looking good in their opinion.
Just 6 days later I dragged myself onto a 15hr flight. Other surgeons have said it was far too soon to fly after a 7hr surgery and thst there was a huge risk of blood clots or far embolism. But my Dr assured me it was fine. Luckily I had no complications but it was far too soon to physically withstand such a long flight... I was only able to fly with wheel chair assistance and a row of seats cleared for me.
A week later I discovered I was badly infected. I had done everything correctly taking all my medicines as directed, I kept the wounds clean and dry and rested bassically 24/7. I contacted Dr Ishan Basaran who told me I just needed to put betadyn on the wounds. A day later the infection had gotten worse. I contacted Dr Ishan Basaran again with my concerns. I saw that he saw the message on Whatsapp, then he blocked me. I couldnt believe it. How could my dr turn his back on me when i needed him the most. The wounds opened up and I was told my local drs that I had to take a series of oral antibiotic medications to clear the infection. The Dr advised that the infection was likely caused by my stitches that didn't dissolve (even after 3 weeks, now 4 weeks they havent disolved) and perhaps due to non sterile surgical equipment. The doctor also explained that i had far too much surgery and that I should never have been allowed to have a 7 hour surgery with 3 procedures nor should I have been told I was fit to fly just a few days post op, that the minimum stay in turkey should have been 10 days. It is worth mentioning that I also got an infection after my first breast augmentation with Dr Ishan Basaran, although it was nowhere near as bad.
When I returned home I was rushed to hospital where the head nurse said there was not much they could do for me except treat the wound and the infectiin and that I will have to see another surgeon to have the wound closed. I have contacted several surgeons today who advised me I will need another surgery which is going to cost me thousands.
I have contacted the dr again pleading for his help via a different whatsapp number and he has blocked me again. His P.A Burak has told me that the dr said if I want to sue him, go ahead and sue him.
I'm left feeling alone and disfigured. My nipples are really different and my hips are uneven, one is much larger than the other and at 1 month post op I don't think it can be put down as swelling, especially not to this extent. Not to mention I have a massive hole under my left breast which is still bleeding. Even with more surgery I'm likely going to be left with a big scar according to the head nurse I saw at the hospital. I am now going to have to spend thousands of dollar to fix this. If i could go back in time i would avoid Dr Ishan Basaran at all costs. I think it's better just to spend abit more and see a board certified surgeon who will do the job correctly in the first instance, rather than leave you with bad results and infections which are now going to cost me thousands to correct.
