Hello all.
After decades of severe hair loss and all the negatives this affliction brings i finally found a place that met all my needs.
Technique,affordability,accessibility,openness to answer each and every question ect .
So early August 2017 I flew to Istanbul,Turkey from Manchester with.
I was met at the airport by the clinic's driver holding a name board at the Vodafone Desk.
He took me to the hotel and I got a rest that evening.
Next morning at roughly 7 o'clock clinics driver pick me up and took me to the hospital. The hospital is impeccably clean and all the staff extremely welcoming and Dr Serkan himself one of the nice person and funny.
We talked for about 20-30 minutes then
i spent another half a hour with ladies having photos taken hair line drawn.
Taken into room next door changed tops and head shaved then led down and had local anesthetic injections which was fine.
Extractions begin and go on for approx two and a half hours then donor area is cleaned.
Straight away anesthetic injections into recipient area then five minutes later extraction begin and go on for approximately 30-40 minutes then heads cleaned again and bandages applied leaving access to recipient area.
I had a nice lunch of Turkish meatballs where the hospital has a tidy restaurant on different floor.
Then in to the most arduous part the implanting of the grafts which seems to go on for too long.
When that's done head cleaned again and fresh bandage applied.
Back in to talk to guys again where he explains immediate post op care.
They kept me waiting around 30 mins and back to hotel and rest up until morning.
When i'm picked up again and taken to another office for a talk with doctor about post op and to make my aftercare.
Back home now and it's about 2 months after the surgery.
Overall experience was good; the journey,procedure and recovery thus far was and is just as i expected.
4500 Grafts average 2 hairs per graft.
Cost 1600 euros which includes bed and breakfast at hotel-meals whilst at clinic-all transfers to and from airport to hotel-hotel to clinic-hotel to airport.
All medication and post op lotion and the procedure its self-As many grafts as is safe to extract whilst preserving donor appearance.
