Hey Everyone,
I'm 31 and from Sydney Australia, I've been balding since I was 21 and now, it's at the point where I either shave it off (and have absolutely no self confidence because it doesn't suit me one bit) or get a hair transplant.
I've used Finasteride and yes, it does work for me with no side effects, but it will not regrow my receding hairline, which brings me the the conclusion that a HT is the only real way I'll be able to fix this.
I've done research for both Sydney and Melbourne, and apart from there not being enough of a selection of doctors that specialise in HT, the prices are insane. For a procedure that would cost anywhere between $15,000 - $20,000 AUD in Sydney, I could have it done in Turkey for $3,000 AUD.
My only concerns with having the procedure done in Turkey were mostly personal safety and quality of work. Dr Cinik's examples of work is excellent and I have peace of mind knowing that he is a doctor that specialises in this, he will also actually be doing the HT. With regards to safety, I've spoken to many friends who even wanted to come with me for a holiday, because Istanbul is apparently a beautiful city and stressed I had nothing to worry about, I think when travelling anywhere you have the be cautious, I am sure everything will turn out fine.
Ultimately, my hair does make a difference to my self esteem and having a procedure will make me more confident. So I am going to man-up and do it once and for all. I have created this journal to keep you all posted with how everything goes for me, hopefully it will provide you with comfort when taking that step to go to Turkey for the procedure. Crossing my fingers everything goes well and will post regularly when I am over there.
Cheers!

Hey Mate,

Cheers,

1 day pre
Just arrived in Dubai from Sydney, awaiting flight to Istanbul

So I've just arrived in Dubai, paid some money to go to Marhaba lounge which gives you access to a buffet, showers, drinks, coffee and a lounge area. It's a bit busy but it's better than staying in the main area of the airport. I'm not terribly nervous right now, but will probably be tomorrow. I'll post another update when I arrive in Istanbul and let you know the whole process and how smooth it was.

Day of treatment
First day In Istanbul
sfr8as86October 17, 2017
Ok, so it's been a long day. I left Sydney Airport on Monday 16th at 5pm, got a 14.5 hour flight to Dubai, waited 6 hours for the connection to Istanbul. So basically, I have had no sleep in 30+ hours.
Arriving at Cevahir, I saw 3 Spanish guys who got their procedure done together, they seemed fine, they weren't in much pain and their actual HT didn't look painful. They had their bandages at the back still, but there was one guy with them who had his HT the day before and had his bandages removed, the donor site looked pretty damn clean. After speaking to them, it has really made me think about this and how there's really no reason to be nervous. If all of these guys can get it done, I can too. Sure it will be a long day, there might be some pain, but as these guys told me is that after injections, there is no pain at all.
My overall impression of Istanbul is that it's probably a place I wouldn't come back to, I'm not really into extremely large, busy places. It's definitely an eye opener. But anyone concerned about safety, etc, I would probably be most worried about the taxi ride to the hotel because they are psychos on the road. I've also found people are not as interested to help or answer your questions and can sometimes come across pretty rude (not sure if it's their intention) but I am not letting that put me off my main goal, which is just to get the HT, stay a few days, then go back home.
Will keep you posted tomorrow regarding the surgery and thoughts and feelings right after the procedure.
Good night!!

Hey Zivi, I guess it is ok? As long as you are reasonably healthy and can take an operation? They ask you these health questions before doing the procedure, but I did see men around your age or 50's having it done.
Cheers
