I can honestly say that this is a great procedure because I see a big difference and no one else can tell or is aware. Isn't that the perfect surgery? No discomfort. Almost back to normal. Thanks so much to Team Dr Bora OK, who feel like family. x

Alar Rim Graft for Retracted Nostrils
Dr Bora is the bomb!! I had retracted nostrils and a hanging columella. He's great and I had read only good reviews for him. Nevertheless this was my first procedure under general anaesthetic and I was more than nervous, pretty anxious actually. I arrived the night before and my hotel was lovely but I didn't sleep for anxiety. I arrived in rain at 8am to meet his lovely assistant who was so kind and supportive. Loved her. I was very nervous. The hospital was very smart & clean and luxurious by UK standards (marble shower, etc.). They did some blood work. Dr Bora arrived. He is a whirlwind of energy. He made some markings, talked me out of an additional procedure he didn't think I needed (good sign) and I was wheeled down. I was so worried about the general that I decided I would tell them there and then that I had decided against it and I would just hang out, go shopping, have a holiday.............then, 'wake up, wake up!'. It was done, ha ha. Before I knew it, the op was over. They were friendly and talking to me. I could hardly speak as my mouth and throat were sore and dry from the tube. I was quite groggy and tired. I hadn't slept after all. They raised the bed so that my head was lifted and I dozed in and out. I had a drip and wasn't in any pain at all. The dressing underneath was bloody and felt wet and I wanted to keep changing it but apart from that. No real discomfort. There were tampons up my nose and I didn't look great! The food was good but it's odd to eat with your nose stuffed and I wasn't hungry. I slept most of that day with the nurses coming in with more pain relief. All this time Dr Bora's team were checking on me and I was sending them messages. They made sure that everything I asked for happened, including Wifi and more dressings. The next morning Dr Bora came, removed the tampons (ouch) and said it was looking good. He discharged me and I went back to my lovely hotel with some dressing over my nose and a plastic cover and lots of medication and nose wash. The insructions were clear. The next 4 days were easy. On the second day I went out sightseeing and shopping and again on the 3rd. The worst part is the runny nose. There wasn't really any blood just clear mucus but you can't blow your nose so it's a special kind or torture. You can just dab at it or carefully wipe with a cotton bud. Sometimes, just for relief I would carefully put a little cotton wool in there so that I had some peace for a bit. I slept with my head raised and was in contact all the time with Team Dr Bora. They were great. I went for a final check up when Dr Bora removed all the dressings left on the eve of the 4th day and flew home on the 5th. To summarise, I had small alar grafts taken from the septum and my columella lifted. I am pleased at the results. I liked my nose before, I didn't want a huge change, just some adjustments. It was closed rhinoplasty so the recovery is very fast. On day 8, today even the swelling isn't noticeable. I was happy to be out and about from the get go really.

I am so glad someone else mentioned their anxiety relating to G.Anaesthetic. I’m getting to book and already have sleepless nights.
