Provider Review
First of all, I’m not the type of person leaving negative feedbacks, as a lawyer, I always try to resolve issues and try to come up with solutions. Here I will state my experience with Doctor Cinik and his staff members. On the beginning of March 2018 I have emailed Dr. Cinik’s office inquiring about the FUE hair transplantation, and quickly received a response from his secretary Ozlem. This was of course the standard type of response that they copy and paste to all patients. That was not an issue to me as this response was quite accurate. I replied back with my images as requested and was told that I would need around 2500 to 3000 grafts. Even though they promise unlimited grafts this amount is the standard amount of grafts doctors office would recommend regardless of your needs. I booked my flight and convinced my friend to join me and get the FUE transplantation for him as well as he was getting prepared for his engagement for this summer, so I thought this would be very beneficial for him to look sharp. On March 19th we both booked our flight ticket’s for March 26th and emailed them to Ozlem (Dr. Cinik’s secretary). She immediately confirmed and scheduled the surgery for March 27th (next day). Even though our arrival was at 6.40pm on March 26th I asked Ozlem to check and see if we would be able to make it for the consultation with the doctor on the day of our arrival. She replied back stating that this would not be an issue at all and that once we will be picked up from the airport she would have the driver to take us to the clinic where we would be able to attend consultation. Everything sounded ideal for us and we canceled other appointments that I arranged before booking our flight. At the time of arrival there were no driver’s waiting with sign’s as they advertised and promised. Gladly I was able to get the two hour free wifi at the airport and contacted Ozlem. She immediately contacted some transportation company who had it’s branch desk inside the airport. Finally we were escorted there and waited for about an hour and half for the other patient from Canada. We were very tired after the long flight and sitting at the airport for another hour and half was not appreciated. After Ozlem threatened us with the (50 euro) charge for transportation in case we refuse to go with the surgery I got upset and decided to call Uber. Its not about 50 euros. This was all about breach of contract. And abusing power over strangers. Uber estimated the same trip for only 16 euro’s. while waiting for Uber Ozlem realized that this was not nice and contacted me apologizing and saying that the Canadian patient arrived and either way they were driving to the same hotel and that we should ride with him at no extra cost. Nice try hah. Next. Once we arrived to the hotel 10 minutes later we were told that our consultation is scheduled for 4pm on the next day which is the 27th of March . This was not acceptable as our time was limited and as we only booked for 3 nights and this was not the agreement we made at the beginning. Disappointed from what I heard I asked her to speak to the doctor and to solve this issue as 4.30 pm would leave us in a deadlock. There would be no time to make an appropriate decision nor to get the surgery on the same day. Approximately an hour later some other associate contacted us saying that Ozlem messed up everything and that we should not be worried, and that we would be picked up at 8:15 am but the only issue is that if we decide not to continue with the surgery the doctor would charge us 100euro for the consultation. This was another shocking news as they advertised free no deposit consultation regardless of your own decision. Well we were in a deadlock as they wished, therefore I accepted the counteroffer as WE HAD NO OTHER CHOISE. I felt like a hostage for some time. )) Well even though this was not the same day consultation as we were promised and the fee for consultation was not part of the agreement, tired from the long trip and unsuccessful international arguments, I decided to accept it. Next morning, we got fresh and ready to be picked up by their driver and went downstairs to meet the driver at exactly 8:15am. I was texting back and forth with the associate telling her that we were outside waiting for their driver. She disappeared for about 40 minutes. Replied back at 8:55am stating that the driver got stock in a traffic and that the doctor advised us to take the UBER and rush, otherwise he would not be able to see us. Wow wait a second, your driver failed to arrive on time and you make threats telling us that we may miss our morning consultation? I thought to myself something isn’t right or maybe this is a different mentality and that this is how it works in Turkey))). So we did what they advised us, we took the Uber, to some international hospital. By the way if you look up online you will not be able to find their address. It is simply not there. Even their website does not have the address listed. Google maps takes you to some vacant lot that is under construction. Once we arrived to the hospital we approached the information desk, and we were told that they had no clue about such doctor. That pissed me of even more. There was a nice cleaning lady who actually directed us trough some basement to get to the room which was being rented by Dr. Cinik. This was awful. Once there, we contacted the associate who sent us there and she told us to wait for her. She arrived 30 minutes later. And escorted us to the doctors room that had no signs no citations at all. Even his office where Ozlem is located has no signs. This raises a RED Flag. Renting a room in a hospital where even an information desk does not recognize you, it does not smell right. We walked in with a friendly smile to shake doctor’s hand in return Doctor stood up with lifted eyebrows and started bitching about his schedule in Turkish. Even though I speak Turkish a little I pretended not to understand his comments and continued with our consultation. He approached with his marker, made drawings that were not satisfying and was in such rush that we could not ask all the questions we prepared. I asked him several questions. In response all I got was that I should not expect to have the same look as an 18 years old. Either he didn’t understand English or this was the catch it all answer. This is the BIG STEP of humans life, why would you push. Why couldn’t you allow us to take a breath? I could not take it anymore and decided to let him go and as he was getting very angry. We stepped outside talked to his associate. My friend decided to perform the surgery as this was his last chance and it was already about 11am we did not have other appointments and had no time to arrange with others. Finally they scheduled us for 1:30pm, we went upstairs to make a payment and I asked doctor’s associate Sara to contact him and ask him if he could meet us again for the final decision. We waited for another 40 minutes. And suddenly someone pushed the door hardly with an attitude for being called out from the surgery room started bitching for being called twice, and telling me that this is not right he had to leave a patient on the surgery table just to talk to us. OK hold on, are you serious? Are you allowed to leave your patient on the surgery table just to talk to some other potential clients. If this was not acceptable why would you run from the surgery at first? Hell no I don’t want to be end up being that patient who is being left by the doctor just because doctor had a potential patient waiting for him to finalize the treatment. Unacceptable. Unprofessional. I later realized that the fact that I mentioned on my initial email about several appointments pissed them off. Even though I made it clear that I canceled all other appointments they suspected that these type of patients usually leave bad reviews and that its easier to get rid of them. I end up wasting my three nights in Turkey, Hotel fee flight ticket fees Uber fees. And my priceless time. Thank God I recorded each and every conversation with this doctor, to proof his attitude. Think twice before you book with this doctor.
