I arranged my trip to Istanbul to get a hair transplant which was a 20hr journey from home. After a long exhausting uncomfortable flight all I wanted to do was get my transfer to the hotel and have a nap! I walked around the meeting point for over an hour trying to find my driver. I didn't have internet so couldn't easily call, message or email the clinic to see where they were. I eventually got working internet and attempted to call the clinic after about 5 attempts and numerous messages the phone was answered and I was told to go to a transfer office in the airport to get my transfer. A little cranky after a long flight I rested at the hotel. The day before I was having my procedure having not heard from the clinic as to what time I would be picked up or what the plan was I tried to call, again about 5 times. I also emailed twice but didn't get a response or an answer. At 1015pm the night before I finally got a call at my hotel saying I would be picked up at 230pm the following day. This would have been good to know a lot earlier in the day. However in the clinic's defense I did get a whatsapp message that day saying I would be picked up at 230pm however whatsapp wasn't working in Turkey for me so I didn't get this until I was back in my home country. That was the 2nd let down. The Third let down was on my final day before flying out. I had visited the clinic the day after my surgery and had my bandages removed, a relatively quick process and told that I would be picked up the following day at 0945 to have my hair washed. I checked out of my hotel and was waiting to be picked up from the lobby. At 1030 and no sign of the driver the I called the clinic, who told me the driver was running late and would be there in a minute. When the driver had been an hour late, I called again and was told that the driver would pick me up in 15 minutes and take me to the airport. I wasn't happy with this seem I wanted to ensure I knew how to care for my hair properly upon returning home and said I wanted to be shown how to do this. I was told I wouldn't have time to make my flight if I went to the clinic, I thought I did so I said I wanted to be shown how to do my hair. Eventually, over 2hrs after my original pickup time I was picked up and taken to the clinic. I was very quickly shown how to wash my hair and then taken to the airport where I made my flight. At no point was I ever apologized to and when I asked why no one was at the airport for my transfer I wasn't given an answer. As for the hair transplant itself, Other then the research I had done my self I was never aware what was happening. Everything just happened. The initial consultation with Dr Cinik was brief but I did have the opportunity to ask whatever questions I needed. The actual persons who do 95% of the transplant speak limited English so finding out any information you need to wait for the translator to come from the other room and then answer your question. I felt the persons doing the transplant were quite rough and could have been a lot more caring and gentler on me. I was given some sort of sedative before the procedure started, although never told what it was I did fall asleep during the transplant. It's still way to early to tell if the transplant has been a success, however everything else seems to be going as expected having read other reviews. Due to having limited time the medication the clinic recommends I didn't get however the chemist next door to my hotel had everything and not requiring a script I was able to get it. This was also half the price of the clinic.
