25 Yr Old / 207 Lbs BBL

Hello!
MY BACKGROUND | A BIT ABOUT ME:
I’m 25 years old, 5’11, 207lbs at the time of my surgery.
When I submitted my consultation pictures I was 217 and lost 10lbs for my surgery, which I later learned was a mistake and should have stayed at 217. Thankfully I did not reach my goal weight of 199 prior to surgery (never thought I would say that in my life!).

CHOOSING DR.B:
After careful consideration of many doctors I chose to have a BBL with Dr. Bfixin (Scott Blyer). I had watched his snapchats for over a year and felt comfortable with his character, knowledge and expertise in addition to the facility’s commitment to patient safety. I had also creeped on the patients he has on Instagram who submit their post-op pics and overall they seemed to be happy with their results!
During my consultation with Dr. B (via phone because my Skype was not working) he warned me that a BBL could leave me with loose skin and should consider adding a TT to my BBL. My heaviest weight was 312lbs (#300’sClub) so my skin had been through a lot with the weight loss along these past years. I still chose to move forward with the BBL and work this out into phases since I don’t like the idea of having multiple surgeries in one session.

MY WISH PICS (INCLUDED IN PICTURES):
In my opinion, quite modest but not conservative. I wanted to clean up my figure and enhance my butt in addition to finally getting some hips!

THE DAY BEFORE SURGERY-PICTURE DAY:
Dr. B came in and gave me some pretty shocking news: “YOU HAVE VERY LITTLE FAT, YOU’RE MOSTLY SKIN”. I started laughing because here I was trying to lower my weight before my surgery and come to find out I should have been doing a lot less of that. Dr. B also countered me on my wish of having a smaller butt and said that with my stature I could “rock it”… he was right!

SURGERY DAY:
I took my Xanax the night before and the morning of my surgery which I think definitely helped since I felt very little nerves.
After getting marked up by Dr. B the anesthesiologist, Jonathan, came in and calmed me down even more. He was very knowledgeable and kind which put me at ease! After my IV was put in I was brought down to the surgery room. I had never been under anesthesia before and watching videos of other women undergoing anesthesia which left me VERY scared. To my surprise my anesthesia experience was THE COOLEST. One moment Jon is asking me what music I like to listen to and the next moment I'm waking up in the recovery room w/ my BBL DONE. Insane!
Waking up in the recovery room to Maritza and Tati was special, they are truly two incredibly kind and caring humans who were able to comfort me and keep me calm.

I stayed for a week in a nearby hotel for recovery. The next day after my surgery Maritza came to check in on me and show me how I should be sleeping/getting in and out of bed! I expected a lot of drainage but to my surprise I woke up with two little wet spots on my faja. I was advised to make an appointment with Luz, Massage Therapist at CAMEO, to get some drainage going. I’m very happy I went through with it! I had my first massage two days post op, which was very painful but worth it! Throughout the week Dr. B and his team texted me to follow up and check in, which I truly appreciated.

Some additional things that helped me in my recovery:
- Stopping pain meds as soon as possible and drinking large amounts of water/liquids: I felt so dizzy and experienced several fainting spells which was real scary. Getting off my pain meds and slowly working my way up to a gallon a day helped a lot with this.
- Getting up and going/ walking as much as I could: Walking as much as I could and gaining back my strength little by little helped me feel stronger and better able to recover.
- Saltines, Gatorade & Capn’ Crunch Peanut Butter cereal: Lifesavers for me… I couldn’t stand the sight of any real food for the first couple of days but saltines and Capn’ crunch was easy to have by my bedside so I could take little bites whenever I was up for it. Cold Gatorade was also wonderful.
- Working on my upper body strength PRIOR to my surgery. I’m thankful there are so many women who record their journey via Youtube or their personal blogs because it gives real insight into the hurdles of recovery. Something I saw a lot of these women struggling with was getting out of bed and for some reason this made me work harder on my upper body strength in the months leading up to my surgery. Believe me, I am SO thankful that I did that!

Overall, my experience with CAMEO was very good. I LOVE my results and almost wish I could have gone a bit bigger with my butt :) I am looking forward for my waist and abdomen to go down as the swelling and bruising goes away. I’m truly happy with this decision and look forward to completing the next phases of my journey in the future.

I wish you the best in your journey and hope that any information I have shared will help you along the way!
