Finally, I'm on this journey to transformation. This dream of mine has been years in the making. i can't tell you how many dentists I've seen over the years from California to Texas. Either I didn't have the money or I didn't have insurance to at least absorb some of the costs associated with dental implants. Thank goodness my current plan does cover implants, a little definitely goes a long way. My dentist is AMAZING. I actually found him through someone from this site, had she not posted her review, I would have never found him. I was going to a dentist in Plano, the amount he wanted to charge me was nearly double what I paid and he really didn't have a clear plan laid out for me, which made me very nervous. AND, I felt like his rates were ridiculous. He didn't want to give me what I wanted, he wanted to give me what he wanted me to have and I don't think that's the way it should go, considering I'm the one who has to live with it and pay for it. I initially found Dr. Iskandar via DFW_SMILE, the pics of her teeth are beautiful. I scheduled my initial consultation on 12/31 and it was on from there. My procedure was 2/3; the procedure went well. I'm healing, the swelling is going down, I will be going back to work tomorrow morning 2/8. I am so thankful. I am so happy that my dreams have finally become a reality. I have my temporary set in now and in June my permanent set will be placed. I will post pics later, should you have any questions about the procedure or anything else, please feel free to ask.

**Update** My understanding, there has been an increase in price to $16,500 which is still great compared to other dentists. Should you decide to see this dentist, confirm the pricing with their office.

Is this cash option? I'm in the Austin area. I was going to do a permanent bridge. How did you decide on the implants. I'm trying to get my teeth done by my birthday.

There are a number of payment options as well as financing. I decided on implants, because I wanted more of a permanent, natural look. I was going to get a bridge, but I hear they break after a while. My uncle had a bridge for years, it broke, so now he's going to get implants.

Same with a Woman at my job, after years of having her bridge, it broke and she just finished up her implant journey a couple of weeks ago.

Congrats... He did mine on the 15th and 16th of December. That puts me at about 8 weeks now. I hope yours goes as well as mine. other than a tooth chipped all has been good. The soft diet is the hardest for me. I hope you have a trouble free experience and all goes well.

Oh Wow, congrats to you, how amazing! If I had the $$$$ I would have done the lower part of my mouth as well. I bet your teeth look amazing! Everything's going pretty good; I had my surgery 9 days ago. Mid April is when you will get your permanent How exciting!!!
February 13, 2016
I hope mid april. I'm not sure how long the process is once you go in and the dr does the molds for finals. From there there is still a wax try in before finals are made. I will update my post so you know a how long these take once he says we are moving on to the final step.
Without decent financing I couldn't have done both arches, but i got a good rate going thru lending club. I think I was the 1st person that used that financing at his office, but Frank helped as much a a he could to make it happen. Keep updating as much as you can to help others. If you have any questions that you need to ask me don't hesitate. I know when you have a ache, or pain that its makes a difference to find out its normal and nothing is wrong. Good luck. You can never reach the end if you don't start.... you've done the hard part...

Awesome. Thank you - I was worried about the finals and if I'd like them. I haven't heard of the lending club. If I had the money I would have done top and bottom. You are so right, I am happy to be here. I'm smiling again when I take pics, vs. that closed mouth look. This is already a dramatic change for me. I'm much more comfortable with dating, etc....
February 14, 2016
When I searched other all on 4 dentist the lending club kept ccoming up. It was about 6 percent cheaper than care credit. Don't apply with them until you are at the office your gonna use. That messed me up and Frank had to help me fix it. Talk to Frank and there may be a way to refinance thru them.

Yes please keep me updated. And I'm like you the soft diet is the hardest part...you get tired of eating mashed potatoes and gravy after a while - lol. But it's well worth it.

I will, thank you so much. I still need a little bit of work done to my lower teeth, but I've exhausted my dental insurance for the year. That may be an option for me. Thank You!!!!!!!!!!

Hi

Thanks for this great review, I have a couple of questions.

1. Is $14500 the price you paid including what was covered with insurance or the sum left over after insurance paid part of the total.

2. How much are your permernant teeth going to be?

3. How long are you able to keep the temp teeth in for?
User Avatar
February 14, 2016
That was the price before insurance. I only had $1,500 in dental coverage so I had to pay the rest. That amount includes the temporary and permanent teeth. Temps will have to stay in for 4 months, then the permanent. I still have a little ways to go, Wednesday will be 2 weeks. I wanted to share my story with everyone. It makes a difference with self esteem. I REFUSED to go out on dates, because I was not going to be sitting across a table from someone feeling uncomfortable about my smile. I feel 100% better already...

You look amazing let me just say,!

Do you know what kind of teeth your permanent teeth will be? Acrylic or zirconia?

How is it different to the all on 4?

Did you have twilight sedation and was that included also?

Thanks for sharing. Could you expand a little about exactly how many implants you had top and bottom? Thank you, you look beautiful
User Avatar
February 13, 2016
Hi, I only had implants placed in the upper part of my mouth, I didn't do the bottom. What I had done is similar to all on 4. It's a full set of replacement teeth with 4 implants in your mouth.

Thanks for this. My teeth were perfect up till 2 yrs ago. I was told many years ago, EVERY tooth had fractures stemming from domestic violence. I root canaled a few but was too busy to take care the problem. Just under 2 years ago, my teeth started to crack. I can't smile anymore plus it's hard to eat. Was wondering about implants and cost.

Hi Ingrida...so sorry to read about what happened to you...I would suggest, if you can, start the process, one step at a time. It took me a long time to get to this point. If you have dental insurance, that will help some. Then, there's financing through companies like Care Credit, iCare Financial. You could try getting a loan from The Lending Tree and/or The Lending Club. The price is about $16,500 - before dental insurance. Here's the link to the dental website - http://www.radiancedentistry.com/ I see you're in Florida, maybe Dr. Iskandar can recommend someone in your area. I rooting for you, wishing you the absolute best!!!!!!!!!!

I'm sorry for your pain. I had bad teeth from neglect and abuse as a child. Dr. Mike Golpa in Las Vegas did my implants three weeks ago. Please check him out. You'll be amazed at what you get for your money. He's 30% cheaper than a national implant chain and his price includes lodging for three nights at a very nice hotel, plus a driver. His website goes into great detail and he has lots of video testimonials. He charged me 35,500 for a complicated case. You can get financing too if needed. His price included 27 extractions of broken and abcessed teeth, removal of excess bone, nine implants full upper and lower titanium reinforced bridges, a night guard, full sedation with an anesthesiologist and assistant, plus driver and lodging. Good luck!

Wow...a driver, how amazing!!! Prior to getting mine done here in Texas, I went to some places and they wanted that price just for the TOP only. Do you have any pics, I'd like to see yours?

Thanks,

they look very nice and natural by any chance can you tell me if he does mini implants or his website I also have a very similar story from dentist to dentist from dfw to plano and been told crazy prices
User Avatar
March 16, 2016
I'm not sure about mini implants, I would suggest scheduling a consultation with him. It's a complimentary consultation, he's very easy to talk too and he will answer all of your questions. I went to so many dentists from San Francisco, CA to Texas. I even went to a celebrity dentist -- would a snob he was. Dr. Iskandar is very nice and easy to talk too. I'm sure there are other great dentists out there, but they are very hard to find.
