WORTH IT$29,000
fell behind in updates. Visit 1: I had my final impressions done. Not much to tell about them, but at that appointment My wife and I chose the final teeth shape, size and shade. Visit 2: This was my first wax try in. The teeth themselves looked great, but I wanted the front top teeth brought in a little and the dentist took a few bite impressions for some changes there. Visit 3: Second wax try in. changes were spot on and both the dentist and I were satisfied. Up until this time there were two weeks in between each appointment. The next step is to have the bar for the finals made and the teeth put on the bar in wax for one final try in. this step take about three weeks. so I am at two weeks now. They will call when the teeth are ready and schedule me. The teeth are Ivoclar Blueline and they look great. I guess that about catches me up. Hopeful that my try in goes well and the following appt. will be for my final install. Its been a long six months and I have had ups and downs. I have lost 30 pounds (good and bad), have broke my temps a few times. Dr. Iskandar didnt seem upset he just repaired them, became short with family members at times(sorry), but would do it again if needed. All my pain has been gone for about a month, so no more phantom tooth aches or numbness anywhere. Will post a pic when my finals are in.

Thanks for the update! I'm happy you are satisfied. I'm getting kind of nervous now. Almost talked myself out of it this morning...

No need to fear. You may be awake but won't remember a thing. I saw him start working and got bored with it and the next thing I remember was getting to my hotel. So easy that day 2 didn't worry me a bit.

Soft diet was the worst part for me. Ive lost 30 pounds since dec. But I feel great and had it to lose. Just one step at a time and you will be fine.
June 19, 2016
Thank you! I feel much better now. I was worried that I wouldn't go back for day two. I have about 20 pounds that I would love to get rid of so I'm okay with that part. I say that now though, while I can still chew a steak. I'm sure I will be singing a different tune soon after the procedure. Thanks again for your encouragement!

I'm getting close to a steak. I think eyes are bigger than stomach though. Time will go faster than you think. Ice often for swelling. Pain really wasnt bad. I still have most of my pain meds

How are doing at this point? Any issues? You happy with the whole ordeal and outcome? Any tips?

So happy to hear that the numbing feeling you had has gone away. I've had the same feeling more in my upper left lip area and my oral surgeon keeps telling me it should go away in time. I'm only 7 weeks out at the moment and so far so good. Yes, the eating part can be tough at times I've lost 13 pounds and really can't afford to lose anymore weight. Hope everything went well with your finals and that things are still going great! Just noticed this was posted last year

Been quite a while. All is good though. Your body will adjust and they will become a new normal. They are different but the pros well outweigh the cons. Good Luck

thank you for you story and updates!!I have such a fear of the dentist and I’m wanting to get this done ,top and bottom! My question is after the procedure when they fix ,clean, fit do impressions, try wax try ins ..doesn’t it hurt ? I’m worried about all he appointments after ..thank you!!
January 12, 2018
No after the initial pain and swelling is gone from the extractions you wont be in pain for the follow up appointments.
To be honest I didnt havemuch pain from the extractions. The pain meds work and if you follow instructions as far as icing and take it easy you will be fine.
The fear of the unknown is the worst part.Once you get the procces started you will find that its easier than you thought. You just cant rush things. You want your finals right away but don't let that be the deciding factor when he ask you if you like something or not. If you do a wax try in and Don't like the way they feel or look you need to tell them. It may cast you a week or two in time but what you end up with will be your smile for years.

Wrote on phone sorry for the spelling.

I'd be interested in knowing that as well. When did all of your issues go away and how did it all turn out? As I previously stated, I had mine done at the end of November 2017 and have been struggling a bit. Main issue is soreness whenever I talk or eat. My jaw muscles get sore and achy. My other continuing issue is numbness on my chin and lower teeth area and around my lower nose and cheeks.
January 14, 2018
It took about11 months before I felt pretty much normal. I had the numbness and what I called ghost tooth aches. I am at about 11 months with permanent ones. Maybe a bit more and now I am totaly used to my new normal. I use a water pick after each meal as food in the gap can be bothersome Give it time I I think you will be fine. Your body and brain both have to get used to them.

Beginning of the end (4 month check)

Had my 4 month check up and was told that the implants look good. They took 1 set of impressions and I will return in 2 weeks for the next set. Hopefully within a month I will be at the wax try in stage. It just makes you feel relieved to have the Dr. tell you that things are going as the way they should. I still have a little numb feeling in the nose area but other than that no discomfort.

Nothing exiting. Days go by slowly and the weight comes off. Can you tell I'm hungry.
As for the update I chipped one of my lower teeth by grinding while asleep so I went in a few days early. They went ahead and replaced the tooth while the dentures were out for stitches removal. Nothing loose and no pain during maint. They took molds for a night guard and will mail it to me after its made. A charge was never mentioned.
I've had some gum pain on the front outside. We are just watching for now. Nothing obvious can be seen. Nothing that requires meds. Just sensitive to the touch.
Will update more as sonething happens.

Well I made it to the 2 month mark with no major problems. Nothing really to be concerned with at this point. May pain is 99.99 percent gone (I still feel an occasional phantom toothache). My next appointment is on april 11th and if all is good I will start the process of getting my permanent teeth. Am looking forward to the end but am happy I made this decision. Will update as I do the wax try ins and choose teeth shades and shapes.
