I lost my husband after a long illness at the beginning of this year and a few months later ended up in the hospital having emergency surgery for a nearly perforated colon. During this time I suffered a rather rapid weight loss which left me with a rather unsightly drooping neck and jowls. I not only needed to remedy this situation not just for my physical looks but I definitely needed the emotional lift as well. My surgery with Dr. Chen is exactly what I needed and after a fairly short recovery, I feel great and have had endless compliments from my family as well as from friends who didn't know I had this done and said how "rested" I look now!

Thank you, I'm really happy with Dr. Chen's work, she's amazing! I had the lower face and neck lift....I believe it's also called a mini-face lift if you're researching!

hi.Im going to get this done, or am seriously thinking about tit. Im almost 55 and have always gotten fillers since 2014 but they are super costly and in the long run i think this will be more effective and look more natural. your before and after looks phenomenal!!!! My only concern is the recovery. I work at an office and can't take a lot of time off and dont want people to know i've had anything done. How long did recovery take, and I realize it's different for different people...but i bruise super easy but am needing this so I dont have to keep getting fillers. I am so envious of your results!! Was it painful afterwards, how horrible is recovering and how long did it take for swelling to go down, if any...and Im sorry for your loss of your husband. :( Happy you did something to enhance your emotions and look!! i love it

I completely get trying to do this when you're working. My best advice if you have vacation time take at least two weeks, especially if you bruise easily and don't want it to be really obvious. My one big bruise (it was on my right lower cheek and went down to my neck) took about two weeks before I could cover it well with make up. My surgeon said it's different for everyone, some patients hardly bruise at all. I will say start taking arnica tablets prior to surgery that can help too! I didn't think it was ever really painful, I did use the prescribed pain pills for the first few days then switched to Extra Strength Tylenol. Mostly it was just uncomfortable because you need to keep your head elevated and only sleep on your back. I kept the dressings on which go all the way around the top of your head and under your chin for about 5 days. The swelling went down pretty fast like about 8-10 days, then it's really not that noticeable. I would definitely go for it if you have the time, you're at the perfect age, your wrinkles haven't gotten too deep! I hope to do some laser resurfacing after I'm all healed as I still have a lot of sun damage...we didn't have sunscreen in the 50s! My after photo is really in a softer light in my house versus the hospital before photo, so still have a lot fine lines, etc. I was very firm that I wanted a natural look, not all pulled too tight, I'm 68 and I think it's okay to have a few wrinkles! Best of luck to you!

i bruise after i get botox so im terrified and people at work say "what happened"? it mortifies me. I was going to have it done day after Christmas but im going to have to wait now because of work..Should I wait until the fillers I just got subside, go away, then have it done or do you think it really matters? Is the scarring very bad and i am just totally wowed by your results. Completely phenomenal.Ill definitely wait until I can be off work for possibly a month i think because i bruise so easily...You should see the bruises i get from injections of fillers. It's awful...Im looking forward to this one day in the near future..Kudo's to you!! you look amazing!!!

I'm so sorry to hear about your husband & your health issue. Wonderful that you did this for you. You look gorgeous! Did you have your eyes done as well - they look so much better too.

Hi CanLynn,

Thank you! No I did not have my eyes done, only the lower face and neck. I need to get another photo for my "after photo", as I'm afraid the lighting in my bathroom obviously is way more complimentary than the fluorescent lighting at the hospital on my "before photo". I still have fine lines on my lower face and neck as I did not want to have that pulled too tight look. I will post another photo soon of myself with the "after look". I've been traveling and just returned home, so will get to it asap! I am still very happy with the results and feel great about the procedure!
