Day 4 post op
On the up and up!! Feeling much better today, really no pain at all, just on paracetamol as the narcotics were making me nauseous, stopped them on day 2. Probably a lot of the no pain is due to the fact I'm pretty much numb around mynincidion and belly button. On day 2 I was instructed by my surgeon to take off the bandage over my bb and remove the dressing plug and wash it out with the shower head!! I was freaked doing it but I got to see my be abdcwas really happy with it. She told me to fully dry it out with a cool hairdryer and reappl bandage. Did that but I'm afraid it'll close up with no plug. Guess I have to trust her, it seemed quite healed up already and not weepy or wet or anything so fingers crossed it keeps its shape. So I've had 2 showers now since I've been home, no problem. Just getting very swollen in the mons area and I have a little rash on my tummy from the binder so I've popped a cotton vest underneath it. My back is quite sore from being bent over and it prevents me walking far but other than that I'm feeling super. So glad I did this. So far it's been a lot easier of a recovery for me than I had imagined. Even put on a tight t shirt today( over my binder and it's looser than before. Yeahhh!
Day 2 post op
Back home since yesterday!! My little girl (3) was traumatised to see me bent over and remained upset all day. She's great again today though. I am good, actually off pain meds apart from paracetamol as was getting headaches and nausea from the narcotics. Feel I have a little phlegm on my chest and dreading coughing.
Day one post op
Hadn't a great night sleep, I wasn't in pain or even too uncomfortable but these flowtron boots on my calves to prevent clots vibrate and intermittently blow up to squeeze my calves so it was hard to get to sleep! Still in good form this morning, I did have a little set back yesterday when the nurses got me out of bed. Managed to walk fine with their help but then they put me sitting in a chair for 30 mins to make sure I was ok to take the catheter out. After about 10 mins I felt like I was going to faint, had the worst nausea and I literally poured sweat out of every pore. I rang the buzzer and the nurse knew by my colour I wasn't well. She got me back into bed and took my bp which was really low. I started to feel much better immediately on returning to bed and had no other issues since. But I am wary of the same happening today as my bp is slightly low still even after a bag of fluids last night. Hopefully after breakfast it will pick up......
