Had IPL and Laser Since 2005
Hello
Had IPL and laser treatments to my face since I was 25. I had problem skin, basically lots of red broken capillaries that meant I was always covering my face with make up and I also had oily skin at the time, not acne or anything, just oily. Super sensitive skin.
Anyway, I was looking into having IPL again, I've not had it for like 4years (had laser last time), came across all these horrible stories on here and they completely put me off. So that's why I wanted to write a review of my long term skin after IPL and lasers.
Firstly I have had lots of different lasers that did not do anything.. the only thing that seemed to clear my skin was IPL. I remember the result was always amazing. But in a few years time the redness would return a little. I think I have been very lucky, not to have had any horrible outcomes.
Now I'm 39. I always looked a lot younger than my age and people are usually shocked when they find out how old I am. However reading up on the IPL reviews on here, I did notice a few similarities to my own skin. Firstly, my forehead is very pin pricked, and I have fairly large pores all over my face. My oil production is not really at all like it used to be, I can't really call my skin oily anymore. It's not dry either though. I have very dehydrated skin, which means it lacks water. This has been like for very long time and I don't really see a cure for it. I just make sure I use the right products and eat right etc.
If you look close at me when I smile, there are small lines that form from pores that link together. I have to say though that it is not super bad, like photos I've seen on here. But, some photos on here that are not that bad, look a bit like my skin. I'm just so used to having open pores, I never really linked it to IPL. And who knows... It's only after reading up on it I've stated to wonder ... I also have very fine long lines by my eyes when I smile. But yea, I just don't know if it is the IPL or not!
In short. I regret all the IPL and lasers I've done over the years. I feel my skin could have been better had I looked after it more. But when u are young you think you will be young forever right. I have noticed fat loss over the years too, but again, that could be normal aging. I don't know. I'll never know right. The only treatment ATM I'm comfortable having done to my skin is PRP injected (without microneedling) which I will write review about later.

Hi, Did you have PRP injections done? If so how did it go? IPL damaged my skin and I am thinking of PRP also.
Hi girl no not yet but only because I've been very busy, it's still on my list to do. If u are worried I'd say it's the safest effective treatment you can do, as long as you do it Without microneedling. some provider's insist on using microneedling whilst others are happy to just inject. I mean microneedling can be great but too many horror stories from it, I just won't take a risk. I'm staying with "safe" options. I'll keep you updated x
Hi, I went ahead and had one treatment PRP about 2 weeks ago and I don’t know for sure yet, but it seems like it did help with facial texture some. Supposedly the full effects take up to 6 weeks. I think I will go ahead and get 2 more treatments 4-6 weeks apart. I will keep you posted.
I'm confused first you say ipl cleared your skin and the results were amazing but then later you say that you wish you never had it. I
Hi, I've never had IPL but otherwise what you've written about yourself applies to me too. What I mean is that unfortunately even for those of us who look really young, the aging that comes at your late thirties really sneaks up on you. Obviously there's no way of knowing what would have been, but just think, you likely WOULD have had acne scars that you do not have now.
Oh no! Sorry to hear that but I'm looking forward to your PRP review!
